160628 Prototype Fabricator / Shop Technician

Our customer located in Madison Heights, MI is seeking an experienced Prototype Fabricator / Shop Technician for a long-term contract position.

The salary range for this position is dependent upon level of experience.

Company Summary

Company does vehicle related research & development (R&D), special projects, and low production vehicle builds. Company performs design, engineering, and manufacturing of components and full systems for the specialty and niche vehicle markets. They provide a full range of services, including development and integration of technologies applied to existing or unique purpose-built vehicles. These vehicle concepts are developed for predefined purposes or functions.

Vehicle Architecture is engineered to achieve specific purposes, such as:

• Vehicle function, performance, protection, and maneuverability.

• Occupant requirements.

• No conversions or adaptations of existing OEM vehicles these are vehicles built from the “ground up”.

Job Responsibilities

Working on complete vehicle builds (frame, chassis, body) of low production vehicle builds according to engineering specifications.

Required Qualifications

• Must have own tools.

• Must have experience with sheet metal fabrication.

• Must have experience with MIG / TIG Welding.

• Must have experience with Brake Presses, CNC’s, Lathes.

• Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
