As the Brand Development Manager, you will be the ACE Bakery® ambassador in the Chicago Market, you are responsible for creating and building relationships with food retail stores, local chefs and specialty food distributors. Working closely with our experiential marketing agency you will be executing a business plan to develop the ACE® brand in Chicago by leading a team that introduces and educates consumers at numerous activations located in the Chicago area. Is accountable for meeting and/or exceeding established sales targets budgeted in the assigned Chicago market.


Maintain a thorough working knowledge of all ACE Bakery® products and programs, and a complete awareness and understanding of the competition with regards to markets, products and pricing

Proactively provide information and regular feedback to US leadership on retail successes, challenges, opportunities and competitive initiatives.

Effectively plan, prioritize and manage the flawless execution of all sales strategies and activities with retail and food service account initiatives to align with regional sales priorities.

Establish and maintain strong business relationships with influencers and decision-makers within in-store bakery.

Use market and knowledge to source and develop new accounts through active prospecting, referrals and leads to achieve ACE® branded distribution.

Extensive contact with retail & food service customers by following visitation schedule, identifying customer needs and following up in a timely fashion.

Maintain a customer database on customer information, call activity, actions, follow ups and results

Build relations with specialty food distributor reps to help identify potential customers and market opportunities.

Work with a 3rd party marketing agency to develop the Chicago market food service and retail sales business strategy to include specific number of consumer interaction and sample distribution

Develop a solid understanding of the food retail environment and upcoming regional food trends.

Participate in food events and food shows throughout the year.

Manage sample storage facility of food inventory, retail marketing POP signage, and other supplies.

Coach, lead and develop a retail merchandising team to ensure all products are handled, packaged and displayed properly.

Develop an action plan that maximizes ACE’s exposure to potential consumers.

Work with food service business owners to develop new listings, provide training, respond to product inquiries and be the ACE® representative in the Chicago area.


3 - 5 years sales experience working in the food service and/or retail business in Chicago area, including experience working with distributors, food service chain accounts and independent street business

Excellent understanding of the Chicago food scene and future food trends

Capable to present detailed business reviews supported with analytics

Ability to work independently and strong planning, analytical and organizational skills

Strong leadership qualities. The ability to align, motivate and hold team accountable for results

Strong proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

University or College Degree in Business or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience

Proven performance in recruitment, leadership, performance management, coaching, training and skill development of a sales team

Strong desire to succeed with a high sense of urgency and results-focus

Strong communication (written and verbal), presentation and negotiation skills

Ability to identify opportunities, set goals and execute plans that will achieve goals

Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record

Ability to work weekends and select evenings, occasional overnight travel required and valid passport to travel to Canada
