This position is responsible for managing daily operations of the physician's practice to include all HR functions for employees assigned direct to the physician. This position has dual reporting responsibility to both the physician and Department Administrator in order to meet the goals for the physician’s practice and the Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Manage daily operation of the practice to include the following for both physician, and any associated physician extenders (i.e. physician assistants, fellows, or nurse practioners, etc.) EF:
a. Clinic appointment schedule to include screening of new patients.
b. Surgical schedule.
c. Physician schedule.
d. Patient and referral source satisfaction.
e. Billing and Collections to include all business operations related to patient services
f. Fiscal administration of the physician’s practice to include purchasing, inventory management and monthly account management.
g. Physician and physician extender credentialing.
B. Responsible for clinic/surgical management of practice while seeing patients.
C. Coordinates, supervises, and operates all satellite clinic activity.
D. Manages all business operations and clinic activity for outside agencies.
E. Manages all managed care correspondence to monitor plan payment adherence, and new credentialing.
F. Coordinates all outside appearances made by the physician on behalf of company.
G. Assist in the preparation and organization of all academic lectures/presentations to various institutions.
H. Responsible for obtaining and organizing research data for preparation of manuscripts for publication and academic journals
I. Manage all dictated reports.
J. Manage all patient complaints.
K. Responsible for the hiring, training, development and evaluation of the work force assigned to the physician’s practice. Directs, assigns, coordinates and reviews the staff within the practice. (EF)
L. Responsible for promoting a customer service orientation throughout the Practice.
M. Participates with the physician and administrator in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures.
N. Participates in strategic planning for the Department regarding operational issues.
O. Follows all safety rules while on the job. Reports accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards.
