Job description : Directiona l drillers Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Directiona l Driller will be responsibl e for all phases of any directiona l drilling jobs by planning, execution and management in order to meet or exceed client expectatio ns. Travel is required. Will execute work assigned, coach and supervise junior technician s and labourers Will perform work including box locating and directiona l drilling, installati on of conduits for various cables, installati on of pedestals and concrete bases, flushmount vaults and enclosures Will perform all other duties as required by department al manager Experience d in drilling in a telco environmen t. Experience d with Vermeer and Ditch witch 5000lbs drills to 40000lbs drills Experienced in digitrack mark 5,F2 and F5 locating systems. manage a 3 to 4 man crew

QUALIFICAT IONS: Must be able to operate heavy equipment (Mini Backhoe, Trencher, Winch, Compressor s and power tools (Power Drills, Concrete Saws) May need to use technical and diagnostic tools (cable locator, signal meter, TDR) Must be responsibl e to maintain a fit condition to bend, kneel and climb during the installati on process Must be able to safely lift loads of 65 lbs Must have the flexibilit y to work in restricted and tight spaces Must be able to manage efficientl y and ensure that deadlines are met to satisfy customer needs * Must be able to apply due diligence ensuring accuracy in preparing and promptly completing all necessary documentat ion for projects and timesheets Must be well organized and be able to work well individual ly and as part of a team

RESPONSIBI LITIES: Ensure operation of drilling equipment Operate bore equipment Read and interpret plans or diagrams and perform required work; Complete accurately all work reports with company provided tools; Communicat e with co-workers for prep work and project coordinati on; Report on work/miles tones and delays to the Foreman and/or Team Leader; Regularly perform Health & Safety inspection of equipment and tools; Oblige to Health & Safety Rules; Work under customers standards Follow equipment maintenanc e schedule and advise if repair is required; Perform other tasks related to this function. Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspection Ability to operate all equipment functions independen tly and safely Provide technical support to clients and crew member as required Keep abreast of all directiona l drilling techniques and all surveying methods Manage inventory and supplies. Coordinate machine actions with other activities positionin g or moving of loads and conduct in response to hand or audio signals from team members Interpret stakes and signage on the land Ensure all reporting requiremen t are fulfilled Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions included but not limited to extreme temperatur es (heat and cold), rain, sleet, snow, wind, and/or wet/humid conditions Work under stress and with commitment to timelines and deadlines on a daily basis Adhering to Aecon specific policies and regulation s Adhering to site specific rules and regulation s Protect and promote the interest of this company in all matters and to take actions as required to satisfy such responsibi lities Ability to work with minimal supervisio n Maintain excellent communicat ion between members of the team and clients Train, coach, and mentor less experience d directiona l drillers Working as a member of the team by assisting other members when required Operates drilling equipment and various other constructi on equipment Experience drilling in both standard and high-risk areas, such as areas with live utilities safely Have knowledge of utility depths and placement Possess general knowledge of constructi on practices and be familiar with equipment Understand and follow company policies and procedures related to safety, and schedule all safety meetings. Ensure Company assets (vehicles equipment tools, etc.) are properly and continuous ly maintained in good repair and secured in a safe manner Ability to read blueprints Ability for extensive travel
