Summary: Manages an assigned sales territory and serves as the primary contact point with customers. Improves profitability of territory through growth in market share and gross margin, achieves productivity improvements and utilizes the company’s technical expertise and talents.

Primary Responsibilities:

•Manages an assigned sales territory. Develops current customer base and establishes new customers. Promotes KFP, product initiatives, and services by making regular sales calls. Handles customer’s on-site problems (applications, design improvements, and product recommendations).

•Grows profitable market share by presenting value-added services. Keeps current with information of competitive products, customers’ machinery and process. Updates customers on new products. Attends product and selling skills seminars.

•Promotes and maintains effective working relationships with customers and suppliers.

•Maintains productive relationship with customer service associates through positive team work. Leads by example. Communicates information on new products and processes. Proactively engages customer service team in relationships with customers.

•Works with customers to identify cost savings opportunities and provides documentation of these via the KFP Documented Savings program. Maintains records of Documented Savings for all accounts; proactively seeks these opportunities and meets all obligations.

•Analyzes sales performance. Keeps company informed of customer changes based on account responsibilities. Submits reports to management on a timely basis.

•Improves territory performance through increased sales and increased gross margins.

•Provides a high level of customer service to all customers; ensures proactive engagement and account development activities with all assigned accounts.

Secondary Responsibilities:

•Reviews customer usage reports on a monthly basis

•Identifies product that needs to be ordered during scheduled customer visits

•Recommends to the customer changes to the inventory levels based on usage

•Adds items to the VMI program as requested by the customer

•Maintains customers designated product area to display a neat and orderly stocking area

•Stocks the product in the customer’s designated area

•Updates labels & barcodes as needed

•Manage inventory turns and maintain appropriate return on the inventory investment.

•Track and reduce dead and obsolete inventory communicating to both sales and customer senior management.

•Analyze data for special reporting as required by management.

•Helps maintain an accurate inventory & coordinates with inventory manager

•Manages physical inventory at consignment locations

•Become proficient with all VMI processes as they integrate with the ERP system.

•Work to suggest process improvements to the VMI program.

•Pickup and delivery of customer orders - Loads and unloads delivery trucks for the purpose of receiving stock and/or filling orders for transport.

•Support 24hr service and delivery as needed

•Performs other duties as assigned. Accomplishes related results as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education – Bachelor’s Degree preferred. HS Diploma or GED required.

Experience – A minimum of 2-4 years of inside/outside sales Industrial Distribution or Integrated Supply.

Mechanical/Technical knowledge required

Familiarity with distribution industry and fluid power products.

Valid driver’s license required.
