Job Function:

Plans and designs manufacturing processes, maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow layouts, assembly methods, work force utilization, and effective programming of machines.

Essential Functions:

1. Lead and assist in the development of the company production system, which includes efficiency improvement, throughput, material presentation, Kanban process, takt time, labor resource calculations and line design.

2. Help set strategic plan and line design to improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, material presentation and equipment layout.

3. Use linearity calculations to identify bottlenecks in manufacturing processes and provide solutions.

4. Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

5. Support day to day manufacturing of current products through process troubleshooting / failure analysis / corrective actions. Plan and lead the execution of various cost reduction and Lean activities.

6. Assist in the development and implementation of quality management strategies and plans.

7. Identify, recommend and purchase capital equipment, tooling, and tools to achieve production goals.

8. Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Must possess a bachelor's degree in related field and / or a wide variety of manufacturing experience and tooling background to plan and accomplish project goals.

2. Must have experience with resource calculations, flow manufacturing, line design and process improvement. Must be able to read blueprints and schematics.

3. Must have or be able to gain an understanding of the entire production cycle.

4. Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in a professional manner.

5. Must have working knowledge of computer systems, robotic and programming software.

6. Must be able to take a variety of projects with minimal supervision, ability to plan, purchase, implement in a timely manner.

Equipment Used:

General office equipment, including calculator, computer, facsimile, telephone system. Production equipment controls, including robotic programming, CNC controls.
