Position Overview:

MPE is seeking a design engineer capable of modeling and processing customized conveyor system orders to meet customer’s unique needs. This individual will work with both MPE’s sales team and the end user to take a conveyor system order from concept stage through manufacturing. This individual will also have the opportunity to assist in large scale processing plant system design. Ideal candidate will possess the proven ability to effectively use 3D software, have basic understanding of processing plant design, and have excellent time management skills.

Essential functions:

•Create and revise mechanical drawings associated with company’s line of roller mill equipment.

•Produce drawings associated with customer orders and create engineering masters within the company’s ERP system.

•Improve on existing mechanical designs as appropriate as part of the company’s R&D efforts

•Modify existing designs as appropriate as part of design for manufacturability initiatives.

•Perform stress / strain analysis on equipment designs for both roller mill and conveyor product lines.

•Communicate with the manufacturing engineer to ensure seamless transition from engineering to manufacturing.

•Ability to work independently and take the initiative with limited direction

•Ability to quickly grasp and learn technical concepts related to company’s products and applications

•Ability to collaborate effectively with both sales and production personnel.

•Ability to communicate efficiently through both written and verbal mediums

•Ability to “think outside the box” and be inventive in developing solutions that meet customer needs

•Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Essential Technical Skills:

•Experience and proficiency in MS Office applications

•Experience with AutoCad and SolidWorks


•Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering Required

•5 or more years of Mechanical Engineering experience

•Design experience with high speed rotating equipment a plus
