The Position – Information Technology Manager, Mississauga

We are looking for an experienced Information Technology Manager to join our team! The ideal candidate must have a minimum of five years’ experience working in the IT world, with at least three years in a leadership capacity.

This position is a very hands-on management role, requiring this individual to perform many of the day-to-day operations, such as upgrades, migrations, infrastructure changes and end user support, along with managing large organization wide projects.

Key responsibilities:

Manages all IT business systems and IT infrastructure within the organization

Maintains organization's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies

Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects. Proactively introduce new technology solutions for current business problems

Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements

Provides direct leadership to the IT Team by managing performance, coaching, developing and growing the team

Keeps abreast of new and emerging technologies and their potential impact on the business

Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented

Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures

Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards

Evaluation, selection, and management of IT vendors, business partners, and solutions providers

Personal Attributes:

Highly motivated self-starter, with a bias for action.

This person must have a “hands-on” approach to management, as they will be working directly with end users and locations.

Proven critical thinking and problem solving skills and high degree of personal accountability

Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure

Influence with the ability to build strong, close working relationships key business stakeholders

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT Management or equivalent; Master’s degree is desirable

5+ years providing IT support in a fast-paced environment, with at least 3 years in a leadership role

Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification is an asset

PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is an asset
