Job Title Mechanical Assembler

Reports to Production Supervisor

Position Summary

To tear-down, inspect, troubleshoot, build, and test new and/or customer-owned equipment, such as fluid drives and fans.

Key Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Deliverables

1. Follow and insure proper safe work practices and environment by consistently reporting any safety incident, maintaining “zero” lost time incidents on plant floor and continually using 5S skills to organize the plant and your work area.

2. Complete tear-down, inspection, troubleshooting and reporting of findings on customer-owned equipment.

3. Assemble, balance (operate balance machine and balance during test), and test fluid drives, rotating assemblies, pumps, pump & motor bases.

4. Clean (power wash and/or solvent based hand cleaning), inspect, fit up, assemble and paint large bearing assemblies.

5. Dismantle, clean (power wash and/or solvent based hand cleaning), assemble, and balance large rotating equipment.

6. Assembly of piping, conduit, and gauges as well as testing of circulating oil units.

7. Complete required quality documentation, including but not limited to checklists, inspection reports, balance reports, and test sheets.

8. Achieve utilization, efficiency, and productivity goals set forth by management for each project assigned.

9. Generate and introduce new ideas and methods to improve process flow within each product line.

10. Accurately and properly record and report all hours worked in any applicable task.

11. Post-test inspection, cleaning, painting and prepping for shipment of completed units.

Key Performance Indicators






Experience, Competencies and Education


• High School diploma

• Mechanical aptitude and experience in assembly and disassembly of industrial equipment.

• Proficiency in the use of precision measuring tools; such as micrometers, verniers, ID and OD Micrometers, Bore Gauges, Dial and Needle Indicators.

• Use of hand tools

• Experience using JIB cranes and Forklift

• Ability to read and interpret blue prints.

• Prior experience in the repair, installation or retrofit of engineered to order products.

• Strong problem solving skills

• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Strong team player along with ability to work individually.

• Basic computer literacy.

• Ability to rig and lift heavy equipment.


• Associates Degree in a technical area such as manufacturing, technology, or welding.

• Prior experience with rotating equipment.

• Welding experience
