Our client is a Tier I automotive supplier based in the metro Detroit area. Given the growing focus in the NAFTA region on compliance, internal control and internal auditing there is a need to add a compliance / risk assessment specialist.

The position requires a person who will analyze applicable laws, accounting rules, and internal company policies, practices, and initiatives in order to prevent and reduce the impact of non-compliance with the same (SOX, ICFR, and Enterprise Risk Assessment, will be the predominate focus areas).

In addition, the position requires someone with the ability to develop and implement initial compliance controls, systems, and policies in order to build compliance and risk management as parts of the standard operating procedures of the organization.

Specific additional responsibilities will include following up to ensure audit corrective actions are completed and continue in place, ensuring that risk assessments are completed, and that SOX compliance actions are in place.

Potential candidates should have the following qualifications:

* Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree

* 5+ years experience with an emphasis on corporate compliance, audit or risk assessment, in either an automotive/manufacturing company or a national/regional public accounting firm

* Strong analytical and quantitative abilities

* Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs

* Strong written and oral communication skills
