Summary
EZ Form Cable is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Cable Makerto join our team in Hamden, CT. The Cable Maker position entails manufacturing coaxial cable in various lengths using mechanical draw down stations and associated test equipment. This will also include the use of soldering irons, various hand tools including cutters, pliers, and rotary forming tools. The majority of the workday will be spent on your feet standing and walking.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manufacturing coax cable IAW Factory Orders in adherence to quality standards
Ensure all performance parameters are met by accurately utilizing TDR (Time Domain Reflectometer), Pull Testers, and Micrometers
Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment to promote safety and productivity
Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting of manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance
Complete all necessary Factory Order documentation accurately and on time
Utilize ERP software to issue material, track production timelines, and monitor inventory
Pack completed orders with precision, ensuring all items are securely packaged and ready for shipment
Report any technical or quality issues immediately to the Engineering Manager for swift resolution
Consistently meet or exceed daily production targets, maintaining high output and efficiency
Collaborate with team members across departments to resolve challenges and provide hands-on support in the cable manufacturing process as required.
Other responsibilities, initiatives and ad-hoc projects as required.
Job Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
1 years' experience in cable manufacturing or equivalent manufacturing techniques
Proficient in the use of hand tools for precise assembly
Solid foundation in basic mathematical principles
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
Strong mechanical aptitude with advanced troubleshooting capabilities
Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Skilled in utilizing dial calipers, micrometers, and rulers for accurate measurements
Basic proficiency with computer systems and software applications
Reading and interpreting both imperial and metric measurements with ease
Well-versed in industry-standard techniques, approaches, guidelines, and procedures
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
