Job Description: Hospital employed Hospitalist group seeks additional internal medicine residency trained physicians to join robust, rapidly growing practice as a hospitalist. We are a 420-bed regional referral and Level II trauma center. It manages its own hospitalist program. The current practice includes 26 full time board certified internal medicine hospitalist physicians. 12 physicians work during the 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. shift. 3 physicians provide care during the 7 p.m.–7 a.m. shift. Average daily census is 15-20 patients per provider. Employment benefits include: Paid Interviewing expenses. A signing bonus and relocation expense allowance. Hospitalist Practice Highlights: Provide coverage for unassigned patients who present to ED requiring inpatient care, care for transfers and in-hospital consults. Admit and manage adult patients to critical care–no procedures required. 24/7 pulm/critical care support for all CC admissions. Manage patients in ED Observation unit. Geographical rounding model. 24 hour subspecialty support available for all specialties including presence of in house radiology physician presence 24/7. 12 hour work shifts, no call required. Average schedule is 16 shifts per month. Flexible, individualized scheduling. Provide limited coverage for select private primary care patients. Utilize in-house electronic medical records, PACS, physician portal and participate in a journal club. Participate in quality initiatives with an emphasis on evidence-based medicine. Opportunity to precept 3rd and 4th year medical students. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Graduate of an accredited program. Licensed in state of practice. BC/BE.
