Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior DBA skilled in SQL Server, Oracle, and Postgres, responsible for database engineering, performance tuning, automation, and enterprise-level support in a mission-critical environment.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

Install, configure, maintain & optimize databases (SQL Server, Oracle, Postgres)

Ensure database health, availability, performance & resiliency

Partner with developers & production support teams to resolve issues

Participate in on-call rotation (alerts, escalations, weekends/holidays)

Manage backup, recovery, failover & DR strategies

Support database changes and ensure proper documentation

Conduct capacity planning and performance analysis

Contribute to team strategy, automation, and process improvements

Technical Skills

Core Required Skills

SQL Server (2016–2022):

Clustering, AlwaysOn, performance tuning

Oracle (19c / 12c):

RAC, ASM, DataGuard, RMAN, Oracle Enterprise Manager

Postgres: 2+ years hands-on

Operating Systems: Linux, Unix, Windows Server

Scripting: Shell, Python, PowerShell

Storage: EMC SAN

Practices: Agile, SDLC

Nice to Have

SQL Server in Azure

Oracle Exadata / ExaCC

GoldenGate

Experience with Cassandra, MongoDB, or other DB platforms

Experience Needed

6+ years hands-on with MSSQL (2016–2022)

3+ years hands-on with Oracle (19c/12c) on Unix/Linux

2+ years with Postgres

Large-scale, highly available database experience

Strong performance tuning (Oracle Optimizer, MSSQL)

Automation/API development using Python

Strong shell scripting & Linux scripting skills

Competencies

Experience in large 24 7 enterprise or banking environments

Strong communication & documentation skills

Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Detail-oriented, organized, and self-driven

Solid database architecture understanding

Team player with strong collaboration skills

Education

Bachelor’s in Computer Science or related field

DBA certifications are a plus
