Research Scientist Responsibilities:

Conduct innovative research and develop solutions to complex software and hardware problems.

Design and implement new optimization algorithms to enhance the efficiency and performance of our platforms.

Create and manage large-scale distributed software systems capable of handling numerous requests simultaneously.

Leverage your research expertise to train new ranking models and conduct experimental studies.

Develop tools for efficient migration of large user data sets across systems for product updates and scalability.

Utilize machine learning, statistics, and data techniques to develop robust algorithms.

Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and synthesize system requirements, producing effective feature roadmaps.

Analyze and troubleshoot engineering challenges applying system engineering principles.

Engage with diverse problems requiring detailed data analysis and evaluation of various factors.

Make informed choices on methods and techniques to implement effective solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

A PhD (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related disciplines, or the completion of relevant coursework towards a PhD.

Experience through university-level courses, research projects, internships, or thesis work in key areas such as:

Algorithms, data structures, or systems software

Data manipulation and analysis from complex, high-volume datasets

Research in machine learning, NLP, recommendation systems, or related fields

Semantic data analysis (images, video, text, audio, etc.)

Adapting machine learning methods for modern parallel environments, including distributed clusters or GPUs

Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Perl, PHP, or Python

$225,569/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
