Texas Nursing Job Details

Job Title: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing

Location: Nacogdoches, Texas 75965

Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract

Healthcare Facility: Level IV Trauma Center, 155 beds

Unit: Medical Surgical – 2nd and 3rd Floor

Start Date: December 23, 2025

End Date: March 25, 2026

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Estimated Weekly Pay: $1420 - $1530

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Float Requirement: May float to ICU, Women's Center, or other hospital units

Charting System: Cerner EHR

Scrub Color: Navy blue

Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 5:1 days, 6:1 nights

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active RN license in Texas or compact state (required for Texas nursing jobs)

BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)

Minimum 1 year of recent Med/Surg RN experience

Travel nursing experience preferred

Proficiency with Cerner electronic charting preferred

Ability to float to ICU, Women's Center, or other clinical units as needed

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to diverse medical-surgical patient populations

Monitor and manage patients with CHF, pneumonia, sepsis, cardiac issues, ESRD, post-op bariatrics, orthopedic, ENT, and general surgery cases

Maintain accurate documentation using Cerner EHR

Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes

Support other hospital units as needed within your clinical skillset

Uphold hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
