Building Automation Systems Engineer Pay Range: $60.10 – 69.71/hr, dependent on experience Summary: This person will be joining a Digital Infrastructure team.
This role is responsible for the design, engineering, deployment, and troubleshooting of Power Distribution Systems and Control Systems in high-availability environments such as data centers (retrofits, not new building construction). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in control systems, HVAC, electrical systems, and IT integration, with a focus on reliability, scalability, and energy efficiency.
This position will be 75% in the field/on-site.
Job Duties: Design and Engineering: Develop and review power distribution and control system designs for new construction and retrofit projects.
Specify control strategies, sequences of operation, and integration requirements for HVAC, electrical, and other building systems.
Collaborate with end users, MEP engineers, contractors and project team to ensure system compatibility and performance.
 Deployment and Commissioning: Oversee installation and commissioning of power distribution and control systems.
Validate system functionality through testing and performance verification.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and internal specifications.
 Integration and Optimization: Integrate power distribution equipment and systems with other building systems (e.g., fire alarm, security, and power monitoring). Diagnose and resolve system faults, alarms, and performance issues.
Implement system optimizations and opportunities for improvement.
 Documentation and Training: Create and maintain system documentation, including schematics, control diagrams, O&M manuals, reports, etc.
Train internal staff and contractors in system operation and best practices.
Management, supervision and oversight.
Management of deliverables, project, task and documentation.
Onsite construction and customer relationship management.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related field 3–7 years of experience in medium or low voltage power distribution/controls engineering, preferably in mission-critical environments Proficiency with BMS platforms (e.g., Schneider Electric, Niagara, Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls) Strong understanding of HVAC, electrical systems, and control theory Experience with networking, protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks), and system integration Familiarity with commissioning processes and tools (Cx, TAB, etc.) Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills Preferred: Experience with Data Centers or Mission Critical Infrastructure Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for control systems Familiarity with scripting or programming for automation and analytics For more information, please Apply and/or email a copy of your resume to Beka Cassidy at:Â
