What You'll Do: Works under direction & requires thorough knowledge of human resources functions & civil service laws, rules, policies & procedures in order to serve as the human resources coordinator for the Workforce Hiring Unit: Reviews & verifies electronic personnel actions (ePAR's) & attachments for compliance with the Department of Administrative Services (DAS) Directives, DRC policies & procedures, bargaining unit contracts, & civil service laws then approves or disapproves accordingly * · Updates the agency position roster future action form (FAF) with employee &/or position movements * Coordinates agency-wide personnel functions in hiring process to include agency vacancy postings, electronic case merit selection files, background investigations, pre-employment drug screening & ePAR processing * Manages & monitors regional selections process activities for compliance with state & federal rules, regulations, policies, procedures, bargaining unit contracts & Department of Administrative Services (DAS) directives * Creates, updates & maintains Qualifications, Experience & Selection (QEE) selection devices on all OCSEA pay range 28/08 & above positions unless otherwise noted * Works with supervisor to create QEE selection tools for non-OCSEA positions * Creates, updates & maintains boilerplate postings & ensures those being used on vacancy postings * Coordinates Taleo in managing the program for all E-1 vacancies * Directly supervises assigned staff: assigns, reviews & approves work for content & accuracy * Responds to questions & concerns & resolves problems * Disseminates & interprets policy & procedures * Prioritizes & approves schedules & itineraries * Approves requests for leave, overtime, compensatory time, attendance records & travel expenses * Identifies training needs & conducts or arranges for training opportunities (e.g., on-the job & in-service) * Writes employee goals & completes & conducts timely performance evaluation reviews * Establishes &/or oversees office recordkeeping & other support activities * Assists with the Correction Officer Assessment process; trains & advises regional & local personnel staff on selection processes * Creates & updates training documents in assigned areas * Researches & responds to sensitive, complex & routine inquiries & complaints from employees, applicants, managers, & general public * Oversees & conducts background investigations, as needed * Attends trainings & conferences * Assists &/or conducts interviews * Conducts self professionally, & in a law-abiding manner, at all times & in accordance with Ohio Department of Rehabilitation & Correction Standards of Employee Conduct * Performs other duties as assigned 3 yrs.
