Advanced Shop Technician

We are seeking an efficient and skilled Advanced Shop Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overhauling, maintaining, and repairing Caterpillar Arrow and GM engines, as well as Ariel, Gemini, and Sertco compressors. You will conduct preventative maintenance in addition to handling both minor and major repairs.

Duties & Responsibilities

Diagnose engine and compressor failures accurately and effectively.

Troubleshoot ignition systems and instrument panels with precision.

Ensure work adheres to technical specifications through careful examination.

Adjust engine valves and check for optimal compression.

Rebuild compressor valves to restore functionality.

Complete scheduled preventative maintenance tasks on compressor packages.

Utilize a pressure washer to maintain cleanliness of units.

Provide training to colleagues on diagnosing and troubleshooting compressor packages.

Perform other related duties as required.

Skills & Competencies

Strong ability to troubleshoot 12 & 24-volt DC electrical issues.

Solid mechanical and electrical skills, able to perform complex service and maintenance tasks.

Welding and cutting torch proficiency is necessary.

Intermediate computer skills, with effective use of Microsoft applications and the ability to learn company-specific software.

Effective communication skills with coworkers at all levels, through various mediums.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred.

Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Caterpillar and Arrow engines is required.

Minimum of 2 years of experience with Ariel and Gemini natural gas compressors is required.

Completion of Caterpillar Gas Engine 1 & 2 training is highly preferred.
