Twenty-four hour accountability for planning, directing, leading and evaluating nursing care within area(s) of responsibility. Interacts and

collaborates with staff, physicians, and patients regarding our programs for the reduction of Hospital Acquired Conditions (HACs) and

Hospital Acquired Infections (HAIs). Actively engages in all initiatives to improve patient satisfaction results. Prepares requests for the

fiscal year’s budget and is accountable for achieving the department’s budgetary goals. Interacts closely with other facility staff and department

heads to ensure safe, quality patient care is provided in accordance with corporate, facility and unit standards. Participates on committees, task

forces as assigned. Formulates, reviews and assists in the revision of policies and procedures.

Job Summary:

Qualificaions (including required licenses/certifications, education and job knowledge/experience):

Minimum Education: Associate/Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Minimum Experience: Five years nursing experience in Emergency Medicine and some previous management/supervisory experience.

Required Licensure/Certification: Florida RN license; BLS, ACLS and able to obtain PALS and Trauma Nurse certifications within one year from date of hire or promotion.

Preferred Certifications: CEN, NALS, ENPC, Forensics.

Required Competency: Successful completion of IV Conscious Sedation and Stroke competencies and Health Net Red Flag Training within 90 days of hire.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent physical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language

Ability to perform effectively in fast paced, stressful environment
