Ellisdale Construction & Development is seeking a a Sr. Estimator and an Estimator to join our staff. Ellisdale is a firm specializing in development, preconstruction consulting, design-build and general contracting.

We bring together a diverse and talented group of architects and designers–leaders in a range of disciplines, each of whom delivers imaginative approaches to deliver highly-functional and cost-efficient projects. We are constantly refining our approach and adding to an extensive portfolio of construction projects in areas including residential, commercial, mixed-use, renovation, interior and multi-family construction.

Project sizes vary from 5M to 45M in size.

POSITION:

The Estimator is responsible for preparing construction estimates including the soliciting and evaluation of subcontractor bids and scopes of work, preparing quantity take-offs, reviewing project plans and specifications for all categories of work. The Estimator must be a flexible and adaptable team-player, as well as have strong communication and client service skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Collaborate with the Estimating team to resolve request for information

-Manage vendor solicitation

-Coordinate Subcontractor contacts

-Lead quantity take-offs

-Updating of plans and specifications

-Generate tab sheets

-Create tab sheets for subcontractor quotes and bid leveling that cover complete scope of work

-Manage pricing as directed

-Work with the Director of the project and project team to create bid packaging documents

-Writing of scopes of work

-Other functions as as assigned

JOB SKILLS/ABILITIES:

-Knowledge and efficiency in Estimating software

-Strong accounting and math skills

-Able to meet critical deadlines

-Team player and dependable

-Exceptional organizational/time management skills

-Ability to read drawings/specifications and to accurately obtain quantities

QUALIFICATIONS:

Four year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent is preferred but not required.

GC/CM Estimating background of 3-8 years for Mid-level and 8 years plus for Sr. level.
