JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Assistant Project Manager assists in managing the project direction and completion and also will work with both the owner and subcontractors for assigned projects. The APM has responsibilities of mentoring and directing on-site staff. The position requires strong organizational, leadership and time management skills. Strong communication and client service skills are also a must

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Assists with Preconstruction efforts

-Assists with financial reports for the project

-Manages subcontractor and vendor payment processes

-Helps resolve issues with subcontractors

-Prepares trade contracts and bid packages

-Oversees performance of project including, project status, schedule and cost control

-Attends project meetings

-Conducts quality control inspections

-Performs other duties as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

-Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products

-Experienced with document control and scheduling software

-Strong written and verbal communication skills

-Strong management skills

-Ability to develop or maintain relationships with clients

-Exceptional time management/organizational skills

-Excellent problem solving and decision making skills

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

-Four year degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or equivalent

At least three years of construction industry experience.
