We are a technology solutions provider in the US NE region seeking to hire a Cisco Network Security Engineer to help offer a healthy mix of Presales, Architecture, and Project Delivery with an emphasis on technical delivery for our team.

As a Cisco Network Security Engineer you will:

1. Design, deploy, and support Cisco-based advanced network and

solutions for complex commercial customers.

2. Work collaboratively with Sales, Professional Services, and

Operations to ensure seamless transition of needs based

solution design through to project delivery.

3. Be instrumental in ensuring customer satisfaction of security

project services and identifying future customer

opportunities aligned to their technology and business

goals.

Responsibilities of our Cisco Network Security Engineer

• Provide design, deployment, and support for solutions that

can be new, integrated with legacy systems, or upgrades of

current systems with minor supervision.

As the Cisco Sr. Network and Security Technical Consultant you will design, deploy, and support Cisco-based advanced network and security solutions for complex commercial customers. You will work collaboratively with Sales, Professional Services, and Operations to ensure seamless transition of needs based solution design through to project delivery. You will be instrumental in ensuring customer satisfaction of security project services and identifying future customer opportunities aligned to their technology and business goals. This position offers a healthy mix of Presales, Architecture, and Project Delivery with an emphasis on technical delivery.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities of this Cisco Sr. Network Security Technical Consultant role:

• Analyze and understand customer requirements or pain points

to translate how solutions can be applied to meet their needs

• Develop, present, and/or respond to proposals for specific

customer requirements, including request for proposal

responses and industry-specific solutions

• Deep knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, Load balancers, proxies and

firewalls

• Strong understanding of network security including, DDoS,

Firewall, IDS, IPS, anti-virus and common exploits

• Proven ability to provide hands on technical product

demonstrations and training.

• Familiar with network monitoring tools such as Solarwinds,

PRTG, Netflow, Cisco Prime, Firesight, Lancope, Cisco ISE and

provide metrics in this area.

• Adhere to compliance controls as assigned (e.g. Internal

Security Audits).

• Install and Maintain a highly available and scalable network

environment.

• Assist with technical issues, project management, design,

analysis and implementation of network solutions.

• Design, Develop and execute New Installation and mitigation

plans for technical issues.

• Prepare periodic maintenance plans and comply with change

management procedures.

• Maintain detailed knowledge of client networks and technology

standards.

Qualifications needed for this Cisco Sr. Network Security Technical Consultant role:

• A 4 year CS Degree or Higher

• 5+ years of expertise in implementing, administering, and

troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including:

firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points and

controllers, and monitoring applications.

• Current CCNA certification required, and CCNP, CCIE

certifications a plus.

• Extensive knowledge and experience of Core Routing and

Switching design, configuration, and troubleshooting, and

usage of Cisco Products and Best Practices in:

o Routing protocols OSPF, RIP, ISIS, BGP, EIGRP

o 802.1Q VLANs, LACP, and LLDP

o MPLS traffic engineering design, configuration, and

troubleshooting

• Extensive knowledge and experience in Network Security,

including design, configuration, and tuning.

• Extensive knowledge in Network Management, Security,

Planning, Traffic Engineering and Implementation.

• Extensive technical experience working with VPN technologies

(IPSEC, SSL VPN, WebVPN, AnyConnect, DMVPN, etc.).

• Extensive knowledge in application transport and network

infrastructure protocols (SSL/TLS, DNS, DHCP, WINS, NTP, FTP,

HTTP, SMTP, CIFS, LDAP, and Microsoft AD), and a deep

understanding of how to support these applications/protocols

when access through VPN and firewall appliances.

• Documents technical diagrams and maintains data analysis

reports.

• Ability to produce and adhere to documentation - Visio, run

books, etc...
