Senior Structural Engineer /Architect -Forensics

8-10 years of experience and advanced technical knowledge in building science, familiarity with waterproofing, curtain wall and exterior facade system design, installation and materials in commercial, industrial and multi-family buildings. Curtain wall, stucco, metal panel and other building cladding experience is also desirable. Individuals with project management experince a plus.

Bachelors degree in Architecture, Civil or Structural Engineering is required. Florida PE required. FL RA required. A Registered Roof Observer (RRO) or advanced Certification is preferred.

Will work closely with Facility Owners, Contractors and Design Teams in the site assessment, selection and review of appropriate building materials and envelope systems. Will also contribute to the development of rehab documents and new project construction documents, details and technical specifications and will conduct field investigations and condition assessments to produce technical reports for clients.

Field observation and large scale report writing will be used toward documentation of compliance on new building projects. Work to also entail forensic investigations for potential deposition/arbitrations. Responsible for Construction Management and Project Management on Building Envelope systems projects.

This individual must work in an orderly manner, accurately check work, meet deadlines and proactively communicate with Architects, Engineers, Testing Labs, Contractors and Building Owners. Must enjoy both the technical and creative aspects of the architecture / building industry and have clearly and distinct (verbal and written) communication skills. Effectively collaborate with all Project Team members, with management expereince of complex projects and manpower.

Perform material research for the project team and the preparation of project specifications. Research selected materials and systems for suitability and sustainability. Be a client resource for technical questions and construction related issues and/or a resource for construction material and product selections.
