Data Warehouse/BI Developer

Job Summary:

The Data Warehouse/BI Developer role involves database development, programming, and testing to support key initiatives. The developer will collaborate with investment programs to enhance data management, improve processes, and ensure data integrity and availability. The role requires strong SQL development skills, experience with SSIS, and the ability to create technical documentation.

Location:Richmond, Virginia, United States

Responsibilities:

- Create and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and ETL packages (SSIS).

- Review and optimize SQL queries and execution plans to improve performance.

- Develop efficient data manipulation techniques, converting Excel tasks into SSIS packages.

- Develop test plans, test cases, and ensure thorough testing of reports and workflows.

- Create clear technical documentation (requirements, process maps, etc.).

- Provide recommendations for development processes (code promotion, code reviews).

Required Skills & Certifications:

- 5+ years in SQL database development and programming

- 3+ years in QA/testing roles

- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)

- Proficient in writing technical documentation

- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Experience with automation tools like Power Automate

- Familiarity with data governance practices

- Experience in the investment/financial market industry
