SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS

Project/Program Management and Product Management

My expertise and experience in Program/Project Management has spanned Idea development and submission through End of Live (the complete development life cycle). I have managed numerous multi-million dollar projects. This activity included the negotiation and or definition of requirements (MRD and PRD), roles and responsibilities (Governance), the collection and development of project cost data, gate reviews and project schedules for the various supporting organization.

Aircell LLC - Accomplishments:

• Defined, developed, and released a new SIP Handset design on schedule and within budget. Project required use of outsourced firms for the software element and the prototype and manufacturing elements. Achieve best in class recognition.

• Managed the developed and implementation of a closed loop corrective action process that complied with FAA regulations. This project required the establishment of systems, processes, and teams. The resulting execution culminated in a 70% reduction in product returns.

• Organized, planned and develop automated Manufacturing test systems for new and existing products used for Voice and Data communications for both commercial and business Aircraft. The resulting project achieved a reduction in test time from several hours to 20 minutes.

• Organized, planned, and structured Product Test operations (Systems and Software) which used contract test teams (resources - $1 million annually). Developed budget requirements, schedules, automated test techniques, bug tracking, and project status reporting for all programs. Achieved consistent and predictable test operations.

• I planned and developed an “end of life” management system and supporting processes which utilized cost benefit analysis concepts to drive decision making. Allowing strategic product and resource planning.

• Managed and guided the implementation of the Navision MRP/ERP interface to the Agile Configuration management tool.

• Worked closely with various major OEM’s and strategic suppliers; such as Cessna, Gulfstream, Dessault, Lear Jet, and Embraer. Responsible for RFQ, RPQ, requirements definition, and project delivery schedules.

ADIC/Quantum Corporation – Accomplishments:

• Managed efforts and activities necessary to identify and correct causes for product returns. Implemented systems and supporting processes which reduced returns rate by 50% (demonstrated saving of $800,000 per year in just return costs).

• Directed and organized activities associated with the evaluation, integration, and release of OEM (external vendors) supplied products (IBM, HP, Sony, Imation, Fujitsu etc.). This included the requirements definitions, planning and managing of deliverables, corrective action, and all cost related items.

Storage Technology Corporation/SUN – Accomplishments:

• Planned, managed, and guided various aspects of multiple major program introductions (multi-million dollar).

• Planned and implemented TCP/IP interface for Library Product. Project included software and hardware elements required for full certification.

• Coordinated, planned, and implemented a design facility in Toulouse France; this project included assessing needs, outlining the plan, identifying/selecting the equipment, development of the processes, training, and arbitrating issues which were encountered with domestic and foreign operations and suppliers. Proof of capabilities, required the delivery of 3 ASIC designs and 5 circuit board layouts.

• Manage a project in partnership with Imation Corporation surrounding a proprietary tape cartridge design. I supported the development, product definition, market requirements, test definition and rollout of the proprietary tape cartridge.

• Developed, planned and implemented a Data Recovery operation. Project required the establishment of the techniques, processes, and cost benefits analysis necessary for the operation to be approved. Achieved 98% success rate on data recovery activity.

• Managed and partnered with SAP Corporation in the development and roll out of a MRP and ERP system which would interface with design processes (system is currently marketed by SAP today). Project was the first end to end ERP system in the market.
