Recovered and successfully lead a team of over 30 resources to implement a $2M Account Payable project. The contracted position required the creation of several key deliverables to include: teambuilding, the creation of a Work Breakdown Structure, Project Plan and effective communication. New servers, firewalls, scanners and highly customized software were the primary focus of the project. Designed and implemented a Project Management Office with special attention given to cross organization communication. The projects’ purpose was to deliver standards and guidelines that PM’s enterprise-wide would utilize to manage projects. Key deliverables include reduced variability and improved success rate of all projects that ultimately adds to the bottom line. Project cost was over $1M, employed more than eight resources.

Sapphire Technologies 01/2007 – 03/2007

Sr. Project Manager

Develop project plan to separate sixteen world-wide infrastructures from Cardinal Health’s core network. PMI and Six Sigma methodologies were incorporated into the project plan with consideration given to delivering the project on-time and on-budget. A full Data Center implementation with raised floors, backup power supply, new servers and software installation was also included in the project plan. Project estimates were derived from in-house resources from a variety of technical and non-technical disciplines to reduce risk of inaccurate estimates. Total project cost $16M with 20+ vendors engaged world-wide with nine month duration.

Project Management Solutions 04/2006 – 10/2006

Develop Project Management Office (PMO) for the Ohio Department of Education and train PMO Director on effective PMO techniques. Architect of project training and review process utilized by fifteen PMO resources. Additionally, I developed documentation templates, new standards, and guidelines for PMO staff. Nationwide Insurance 10/2000 – 4/2006

Project Manager

Managed two high-performing teams to design and deliver the online auto quote product (i.e. www.nationwide.com). One team focused on software and the other focused on Hardware. A three-tier clustered Windows environment was ultimately used and interfaced with existing Mainframe to produce a quote consistent with a quote given by an Agent.

• Implementation budget was $30M, duration was nine months, and employed more than 120 resources. After the initial project implementation, my team and I provided routine maintenance and upgrades for the next five years.

• Managed team responsible for the design and implementation of Internet re-contact tool, generating over $10M during the first year of implementation

• Improved web-site ranking with Gomez.com in 2002 from #12 to #3 with a web-site redesign yielding increased company publicity and increased revenue

• Maintained web-site availability in excess of 98%

• Proud to be a member of Nationwide’s first Six Sigma Black-Belt team. Our objective was to identify and reduce process gaps, waste reduction, and improve operational efficiency.
