Summary:
I am currently working for Paul C. Rizzo & Associates. I am a field geologist logging, identifying, storing core samples to be used in a geo-technical investigation of the sub-surface environment. I have experience in environmental, water/soil sampling as well. I have experience in geo-technical test boring, mud logging, and working on source water assessment plans for potable sources of drinking water for cities, and has performed inspections of waste water and clean source water facilities. I also has experience with the construction of foundations for electric power plants. I am experienced in geo-technical investigations for site assessments on various projects.
Work Experience:
August 2011 – Present, Paul C. Rizzo & Associates: Turkey: I am a Field Geologist on a large Nuclear Power Plant site investigation. Advanced field activities included geo-technical logging of critical reactor center line bore holes up to 120-meters deep, as well as other strategic bore holes. Also, collecting "special-care" samples for detailed laboratory analysis.
May 2011 – August 2011, Horizon Well Logging LLC.:
I was employed as a mud logger for this company. I am currently working in the northern panhandle of West Virginia. We are subcontracted out by a drilling company to do their mud-logging work and reports. We are currently doing the work in the Marcellus Shale regions.
February 2011-May 2011, Weston Solutions: Environmental Sampling:
I was sampling water, and soils in eastern Ohio for Weston Solutions. It was the
beginning stage for Chesapeake Energy, whom contracted my company out to do
this work. I would sample future properties to be drilled on to ensure what quality
the water and soil is before any drilling occurred.
April- July 2010, Paul C. Rizzo & Assoc.: Geo-technical Investigations:
I was a geologist working on geo-technical investigation for a large nuclear site in
eastern Pennsylvania. I was the assistant field manager, as well as the Health and
Safety representative on site. I also was logging core samples, as well as collecting
samples for laboratory analysis, and testing.
February- March 2010, Rewriting Field Procedures - Paul C. Rizzo & Assoc. Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania: Assistant Project Geologist: I was involved with the rewriting of corporate
field, including procedures for borehole abandonment, and photographic sample
records.
December 2008 - January 2010, Paul C. Rizzo & Assoc.: United Arab Emirates:
I served as a Field Geo-Scientist on a large Nuclear Power Plant site investigation.
Advanced field activities included geo-technical logging of critical reactor center line
bore holes up to 120-meters deep and collecting "special-care" samples for detailed
laboratory analysis. Office responsibilities include technical geological report writing
for the Safety Analysis Report (SAR).
June 2008 - December 2008, West Virginia. Department of Environmental Protection, Wheeling, West Virginia: Inspector, Environmental Enforcement Division of the D.E.P., Waste and Water: I dealt with the public and private industry doing compliance samples of groundwater and waste water, and well monitoring for the reuse of water acceptable to the environment.
May 2007 - June 2008, West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources, Kearneysville, West Virginia: Geologist, Environmental Engineering Division: I worked for the source water drinking and clean uses of water. I sampled water and worked with federal, state, and county administration to develop plans and laws in order to clean up rivers and streams.
May 2006 - September 2006, United Construction Company, Inc., Parkersburg, West Virginia: Iron worker: I was responsible for welding, tying rebar, grinding, and using torches to support the foundation construction of the American Electric Power Plant additions to the plant concrete towers.
April 2006 - May 2006, Interstate Equipment Corporation,Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania: Iron worker: I took part in the construction of a hydraulic crane for off loading barges of fly ash to be used for the newly developed gypsum wall board plant.
February 1999 - January 2006, Various Construction, West Virginia: I was primarily responsible for building houses; building garages; cabin remodeling; house remodeling; laying block for foundations; concrete pour and finishing; and constructing a pole-barn.
