Duties encompassed editing all the copy for two regional newspapers for the environmental industry: the Florida Specifier and the Georgia and Southeast Environmental News. Other responsibilities included: writing stories and brief new items, assigning articles to freelancers and industry columnists, shooting or obtaining photographs used as cover art, assisting in layout/design functions and attending conferences to gather news and network.

Served as editor for three trade publications: Onboard Services, Healthcare Foodservice and Correctional Foodservice. Onboard Services, the primary monthly publication, involved writing about the food, entertainment and other amenities available while traveling on airplanes, cruise ships and trains. The position involved editing, writing, coordinating freelancers and attending trade shows in the U.S. and overseas.

Wrote and edited news and feature stories for monthly trade publication catering to developers and retailers of value-oriented shopping centers such as outlet malls.

Wrote copy for press releases, newsletters, brochures, press kits, advertorials and magazine feature articles for a wide range of clients. These clients included real estate developments and building companies, non-profit health care agencies, music companies and political candidates. Responsibilities also included developing relationships with local reporters and editors in order to pitch story ideas or provide finished articles.
