MARINE EXPERIENCE
My responsibilities on marine projects
Responsibility started with bid selection of our contractor, I reviewed all contracts to ensure all bids were inclusive with proper barge equipment with cranes used for lifting capacity on water, to go over all aspects of the job with contractor as well as barge captain. I worked hand in hand with survey and engineering working on coordinates to ensure proper placement. Scheduling all equipment to be on shore before we started, also working closely with department of fish and game also, department of recreation, and E.P.A to ensure minimal disturbance except in the area we were in,
We had tugs pull our anchor lines out and pin them then we winched the lines tight to position the barge
In shallow water we had the tugs position spuds to hold the barge and in some cases when we could we tie off to land as well as the anchor system
My responsibility was to make sure all went together in a very safe manner without a glitch subs being there materials, and everything was put in the right place and with my knowledge and a very good crew with me we made it happen but to make sure safety was first.
Weeks before we started each project I went over all permitting to make sure everything was in order these were high profile jobs many people looking on.
I had these 2 projects and I also built 2 pipelines going under rivers in Colorado we had to drive sheet piles on either side to help divert the river while we installed our pipeline these were very simple
