This application will have a workflow in place, where analysts for equities, derivatives, realty and economy to create different research stories or themes. Then, allow team lead, penal members and editing team members to comment on the particular story. Also, different dashboards are available for different types of user. Apart from workflow there are number of functionalities available like, entire UI design of CDA can be configured inside CMA, kind of pluggable look & feel, so there won’t be any changes in the code of CDA to change the UI view. Then, there is a module of valuation indicator.

Role: Analyst and Senior Programmer –

• Developed the important modules of the system like, editor’s dash board, analyst’s dashboard, ask the analyst, related research and economy story. 2 GoldenSource Orchestrator

Product Development of existing product for the next feature release. Orchestrator provides an execution environment for processing messages in the GoldenSource EDM suite and is integrated into standard J2EE Application Server products. It allows you to either use provided standard workflows for loading and processing data or to design custom built workflows that provide any additional functionality that is required. External sources can trigger events and workflows via various integration points, e.g. via WebServices, via commandline scripts or via APIs. The next feature release includes new features development like, replace the existing web services implementation with completely new architecture, migrate the product to JDK 6 and in turn to latest versions of application servers like from Websphere Application Server(WAS) 6.x to WAS 7.x, Weblogic 9.x to Weblogic 11g, JBoss 4.x to JBoss 5.x and enhancements to existing testing framework by introducing new tools for code quality.

Role: Analyst and Programmer – For migration of different web applications and web services from Websphere Application Server (WAS) 5.1 to 6.1 server. The task is to setup and assess the application on WAS 5.1 and then migrate it in the application to WAS 6.1 and perform the Unit Testing of the migrated application. Apart from this development work for the new feature also provided support and maintenance to existing product.

• Existing web service implementation is of way old implementation using JAXM library. We need to create entirely new web service implementation with following requirements:

1. On-the-fly creation & deployment of the web service without restarting a app server

2. Conforms to current web services standards like, WS-I Basic Profile, WS-Security, UDDI etc.

3. RESTful support(in later stage)

• Executed the proof of concept for the above web services implementation using Apache CXF framework and JAX-WS spec. Communication to the product management group for the pros and cons of the new web services implementation. Design and developed a web service using new implementation and integrated it to existing product.

• There is a requirement of migration from JDK 5 to JDK 6 for the next feature release of the product. Planned the whole migration for all the 3 application servers. Started from Weblogic 9.2 to Weblogic 11g, Websphere 6.1 to Websphere 7 and JBoss 4.2.3 to JBoss 5 with JDK 6. Resolved major deployment issues related to JVM MBeans and others.

• Improved code quality by introducing EMMA code coverage tool and PMD code quality tool. Reviewed the Sonar and Hudson tool to incorporate into the product. Improvement in existing JUnit test cases and usage of FindBugs tool.

• During the migration major code changes can be occurred as different specifications has been followed by WAS 5.1 and WAS 6.1 server. Like, WAS 5.1 supports till JSP 1.2 only, where WAS 6.1 supports JSP 2.0 also. So, in this case one should aware about different J2EE specifications and one should know the differences between them.

• In case of web services migration, major challenge exist in the re-implementation of web service in JAX-RPC standard. Existing web service implementations are in Apache SOAP. While migrating the web service to JAX-RPC standard on WAS 6.1 care should be taken such that existing client should not be affected. That means the request and response XMLs needs to be remained as is on the wire.

• Worked in the pilot phase of the application in which estimated the efforts required for migration of an application and feasibility study of the project. Prepared the different technical documents like assessment checklist and migration cook book.

• Handling a small team which migrate the specific set of web application and web services. Review the code and take care of the quality of deliverables for the migrated application.
