Keeping adequate stock of toiletries-order with reception before stock runs out.

Ensuring clothing levels are adequate- reporting to nurse in charge so they can inform relatives

Ensure all clothing is clearly labelled- sew in name labels for clothing or label with laundry pen and report to nurse in charge if no labels.

Quality time spent with service user, chatting, filling in diary, reminiscing with photos, etc.

Ensuring birthday and Christmas celebrations are carried out.

Outside services used, e.g. hairdressing appointments

Completion of weekly menu with the service user on or their behalf where necessary using “likes” and dislikes” sheet and knowledge about the service user.

Social and emotional assessment involvement

Life history filled out in file.

Encouraging participation in activities and communicating with activities coordinator what activities they enjoy.

Explain service user’s handbook to service user and relatives.

Complete pre-admission checklist for their room.

Any other task you feel will improve the service user’s quality of life.
