Assistant Administrative Manager, June 2009-Present

The Assistant Administrative Manager assists the Administrative Manager in conducting the daily business for the Indiana Laborers Welfare and Pension Fund. The Fund has a current value of $700 million and is a nonprofit organization. The office is comprised of 31 employees; clerks, claims examiners, bookkeepers, collections manager, 5 computer programmers, and 3 administrative assistants all of which are direct reports to the Assistant Administrative Manager. The daily scope of work encompasses the complete operation and ultimately answers to the Indiana State District Council Secretary Treasurer.

Duties include but not limited to:

• Human Resource Manager-which includes hiring, discipline and training of the staff

• Reviews and maintains vendor relations and negotiates contracts

• Manages the quarterly board meetings, coordinates upcoming issues with the trustees and supervises three administrative assistants in insuring all material is in place for the meetings.

• Works as a direct contact with the Fund’s attorney, actuary and investment manager

• Works closely with the outside vendors to resolve member issues, arbitrations, and pending lawsuits.

• Reviews and approves bills to be paid

• Reviews and signs off on multi-million dollar money transfers between money market funds

• Develops and maintains up to date job descriptions

• Saved the Fund over $750,000 in staffing, process improvement, mail outs and general cost savings on the day to day operation.

• Works closely with the collection manager, collections attorney and contractors to resolve outstanding debt outside of court by setting up promissory notes, payment plans and other means to secure the debt amount.

Production Manager (May 2008- October 2008)

Assist Human Resources in determining staffing needs and staffing the facility with key, qualified employees

Set training schedules, staffing requirements and hourly schedules in an effort to utilize all resources in the most efficient manner

Key player in setting a safe work environment and works hand in hand with the EH&S coordinator

Work closely with the plant management team to accomplish the monthly and yearly goals

Work closely with the maintenance manager and team to minimize downtime and improve the plants efficiency

Production Supervisor, (2006 to 2008)

I was hired on as a production supervisor to assist with the start up of a new plant. During my time at Certainteed I have traveled to White City, Oregon and Roaring River, North Carolina for training. Six maintenance personnel were assigned to travel with me to both locations. I coordinated all travel changes and accommodations for the entire group as well as submitting expense reports. I was also selected to take six maintenance personnel to Nova, MI to attend a FLOW Water Jet training. I have also been involved, with our production team, in setting up power point training and a complete training program for the new hires, as well as traveling with them to each site for training. I have also been involved with the interviewing and selection process for the new hires for production, and I have assisted with interviewing for the maintenance Stores Room Clerk and various other positions. I also coordinated the same travel and training arrangements for the production employees. I also have assisted with coordinating various projects for the completion of the facility and worked with a number of contractors to obtain bids and complete projects.

OTP supplies various factories and coal mines with pumps, compressors, hydraulic units, blowers and broad commodity support. As an Account Manager my daily duties were: supplying the customers with the best service and support there is to offer, managing my time and distributing it among all of my customers, preparing quotes and delivering them in a timely manner, following up on any previous quotes with the customers, and following up with the service department to insure all equipment was completed by due dates. I reported my weekly progress and presented any and all potential business in a Monday meeting with the Terre Haute sales team and the district manager.

Staples Distribution Center

Senior Supervisor, Terre Haute, IN (2005- 2006)

Staples is a distribution center which services all of Staples’ Midwest retail stores. I supervised the break pack and full case departments. These departments fill the orders and put them on the belts to be loaded on the trucks in shipping. I have experience with the Pick to Light System, various computer programs, shipping and receiving procedures, and various other aspects of the distribution process. My job was to ensure the daily work was completed and set up for the following day. This included, but not limited to, production reports, employee supervision, discipline and training, and once again ensuring my department met or exceeded company goals.

Visteon Corporation

Resource Advisor, Bedford IN (2003-2004)

Visteon is a spin-off company from Ford, which produces various components for their vehicles. I supervised 85 union employees in my department. My job description was, but not limited to, supervising the employees as well as disciplining and ensuring that everyone adheres to the company policy. I was also responsible for production, quality, daily reports using Excel, scheduling maintenance on the 8 lines in my department, presenting my production gains and losses at the monthly business meetings, working with design engineers to improve the processes, and scheduling overtime to meet production needs. My daily job was to ensure that my people and department met all production needs with a given number of quality parts in an efficient manner.

FUTUREX

Site Manager, Terre Haute, IN (1998-2003)

Futurex is a leading manufacturer of extruded custom plastic sheet products. They are also a leader in the vacuum forming industry. While at Futurex, I managed the day to day operations. I facilitated the shipping and receiving department which encompassed the following; scheduling shipments and setting up the line haul trucks, managed all incoming shipments of raw materials supplies as well as managed the inventory of all goods. I also managed the materials and purchasing; which included setting up all accounts and maintaining vendor relations, negotiating the best price possible on all purchases, and tracked all incoming material to ensure that it arrived on time. I also managed the human resources department for the companies 75 employees, as well as all scheduling for the maintenance department, projects and PM schedule.

• Saved the company $1+ million over a 4 year period in process/maintenance improvements.

• Obtained full scope responsibility for the site within the first year of employment.

• Was a key player in 60,000 sq ft additions in new structures.

• Rebuilt and installed 4 extrusion lines, all ahead of schedule.

Hands on experience: I performed trouble shooting and maintenance on all the extrusion lines and equipment for both mechanical and electrical. Additionally, I repaired hydraulics, pneumatics, small overhead cranes, flat sheet extruders, shredders, hog grinders, conveyors, gear boxes, pumps, and forklifts. I also have experience with welding, (mig, tig, arc, and air arc), as well as some electrical (high and low voltage, and trouble shooting and programming PLC’s and Drives).
