This position entails at the FEED stage the management/approval/editing of the creation of project procedures, construction execution plans, ESD and security procedures, milestone/critical path determination, preliminary schedule identification and the approval and constructability of design deliverables. At the later stages of the projects, heavy involvement in the determination of subsystems and systems to enable the most efficient pre-commissioning, commissioning and handover schedule.
Familiar with various international norms and standards including IEE, API, and etc. Specific knowledge of Chevron Texaco’s CPDEP.
Worked in heavy crude oil refineries and extreme cold conditions such as Saklin Island, Russia and North Slope, Alaska. Worked on the design, construction and commissioning of highly complex systems used for Process Control Systems. Worked offshore Gulf Of Mexico on BP, Shell, BHP, Stat Oil Facilities.
Excellent computer literacy and first-hand knowledge of many current software packages including Microsoft Office suite. Familiarity with several types of programmable controllers And DCS and SCADA systems used in the process control of large-scale production plants.
• Very familiar with design office procedures, Document Control Centre functionality and drawing office procedures.
• Construction and commissioning background gives a good insight into client requirements during the staged handover process after commissioning activities are complete.
PROJECT ASSIGNMENTS
PERIOD March 2010 – Current JOB TITLE Commissioning Manager COMPANY Chevron USA PLANT/LOCATION BOT and MGS 2 Projects –Houston, Texas And Angola, Africa
DUTIES Electrical, Instrumentation Commissioning lead on major oil and gas projects. Supervision of design construction and commissioning engaged in crude oil heater facilities. Duties involved electrical and instrumentation procedures for construction, commissioning and handover of systems for Operations. Main Gas Supply 2 Project Design, FAT, Hazop of design systems. Worked with Technip and EDG Engineering Companies of Design and Fabrication of control systems. Documents included P&ID’s, loop drawings, schematics, cause and effect drawings. Reviewed and Approved of Electrical and Instrumentation drawings, specification sheets and purchase order requisitions on web base Coreworx.
PERIOD August 2009 – Feb 2010 JOB TITLE Senior Construction/Commissioning Manager COMPANY Exxonmobil PLANT/LOCATION Odoptu Project – Houston, Texas, and Sakhalin Island, Russia DUTIES Senior Lead person working for site Project Manager. Worked with Fluor Daniel/Sugarland and site Fluor Daniel at Yuzhno, Russia. Duties included working with Engineers, Designers, construction, and Managers of a grass roots facility. Wrote daily reports on productivity of assignments. Interfaced with HSE, Commissioning and other disciplines.
PERIOD July 2007 – August 2009 JOB TITLE Commissioning/Startup E/I Manager COMPANY BHP/Neptune and Stat Oil Hydro/Perregrino PLANT/LOCATION Houston, Texas and Gulf of Mexico DUTIES Startup/Commissioning lead of Control Systems. Setup procedures for Commissioning of onboard systems. Worked directly with managers, engineers and lead technicians on job assignments. Reported to HUC Manager on all progress task assignments. Worked directly with Honeywell Engineers on Experion control systems applications.
PERIOD July 2006 –July 2008 JOB TITLE Senior E&I Commissioning Engineer/Manager COMPANY Valero PLANT/LOCATION Memphis, Tennessee DUTIES Senior E&I Design, Construction, and Commissioning of a Turn a Round at the existing refinery. Responsible for all E&I construction, multiple power generation installations, power distribution, fire and gas safety systems, Honeywell and Allen Bradley control systems. Worked directly with Project Managers and Engineers on design, fabrication, and commissioning/startup of existing projects. Worked on development of P&ID’s, loop drawings, Cause & Effects with the Valero design group.
PERIOD March 2003 – July 2006 JOB TITLE Senior Instrumentation/Automation Consultant COMPANY BP/Shell PLANT/LOCATION Ingleside, Texas; Morgan City, La. and Gulf of Mexico (Nakika and Atlantis) DUTIES Construction/Commissioning responsible for the management of EPC contractors’ design, procurement and construction activities of major offshore semisubmersible platforms and utilities units. Worked with WS Nelson and Mustang Engineering firms. Carried out constructability reviews using 3-D models. Supervised contractors’ deliverables to mobilization. Member of the team forecasting budgets through engineering, procurement and construction. Responsible for the QC documentation Completion and Turnover program from contractors and the inspection process by the QA/QC departments.
PERIOD March 1998 – March 2003 JOB TITLE Instrumentation and Electrical Design Engineer COMPANY Logical Systems Inc. PLANT/LOCATION Bartlett, Tennessee DUTIES In charge of multiple contractors carrying out the multi-discipline construction, commissioning and handover of power distribution and switching equipment, cathodic protection installations, winterization/process control systems, fire and gas safety systems, plc and DCS control equipment, metering stations and plant front-end equipment. Utilized Autocad 14 and 2000 LT to create and revise P&ID’s, loop drawings, electrical drawings, and logic drawings. Estimated projects on datastream MP2 data base program.
PERIOD August 1993 to March 1998 JOB TITLE Instrument/Electrical Design and Startup Project Engineer COMPANY Alyeska Pipeline PLANT/LOCATION Fairbanks, Alaska and Pump stations 1 thru 8 DUTIES Management and construction of a 100,000 bpd Coker and naphtha recovery unit on the Oil Tar Sands project. Working under extreme conditions in Northern Alaska, team of 100 people of all disciplines completed 100% of the construction and system hand-over on schedule. Systems completed include eight major pump stations with extensive Raychem heat tracing installations, motor control centers, cathodic export crude pipelines, control systems, and power distribution throughout the complete unit.
PERIOD August 1981 – November 1993 JOB TITLE Instrument Design and Startup Project Engineer COMPANY BP and Arco (Atlantic Richfield) PLANT/LOCATION North Slope Alaska (GC-2, GC-3; CPF-1,2,3) DUTIES In charge of contractors carrying out design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start-up work on the Prudhoe Bay field and Arco Kuparuk field. Equipment installed included Solar and General Electric compressor and turbo-generator packages with associated large gas production test separators. Fire and Gas, ESD and DCS system. Injection gas-lift facilities and the construction/commissioning of new project facilities. Managed a construction program to cut over all existing sites using a data SCADA system to a radio microwave transmitted data system using Allen Bradley microprocessors feeding into a Honeywell SCAN 3000 DCS.
