Polycarbonate Project, Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company

Saudi Kayan is an affiliate of Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Company (SABIC) at Jubail Industrial Area in Eastern Province of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). SABIC is the largest Petrochemical Company in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with good presence in international Petrochemical business.

Process Licensor of this Polycarbonate manufacturing project is Asahi Kasei, Japan, FEED had been developed by Flour Arabia and EPC Contractor for execution of project was Daelim Industrial Co., Korea.

Present Status of Project: Successfully commissioned and producing on specification products. Performance Guarantee Test is scheduled in the month December’11.

Key Responsibilities:

- Challenged to handle the entire gamut of Project activities related to reviewing & ensuring EPC contractor development of Concept studies (process and hydraulic calculations, mass & energy balance, equipment design, control systems, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping Instrument Diagrams (PIDs), Plot Plans, Hazardous Area Classification, Utility Summaries, HAZOP studies, are as per ITB (Invitation To Bid) documents and Basic Engineering Design Documents (BEDD).

- Provided technical assistance and advice to operation team on all types of review and development on SOPs, Emergency Response Plan (ERP), and Shut down / Start up Procedure.

- Conducted awareness session on Pre start up SHE review (PSSR), Transfer, Custody, Care & Control (TCCC), Punching, etc.
