This phase of the project focused on the budgeting and forecasting of the Operating Expenses, Workforce Planning, and Sales forecasting with Gross Margin Analysis. This project also focused on completing their reporting needs using the Hyperion System.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The main purpose of Financial Reporting System (FRS) is to replace all internal reporting systems with new systems constructed around a common set of software tools and using consistent data standards. The three major modules of this system are data collection, consolidation and reporting. The reporting and inquiry processing is handled by Essbase Cubes. FRS is fully web based and can be accessed by Citigroup’s intranet through web browser- Internet Explorer. The inbound data is uploaded and processed into the Data Warehouse. The data from the warehouse is periodically processed into Essbase. The predefined Hyperion reports access the multidimensional data in the cubes for historical and other types of analysis. PROJECT: ACES INTEGRATION WITH ESSBASE

Advanced Commercial Energy System (ACES) was a new system, which was being implemented to provide data to the data warehouse and to the end users across the country through Essbase cubes. The cubes provide earning statements, Net income statements, Earned net income and various other business segment reports, which are dependent on the nightly Essbase batch process. Developing calculation scripts depending on the accounting business logic was one of the various challenges in the project. Visual Basic and Essbase Integration Services was used to load and update the Essbase cubes. Developed, designed, implemented, tested, and deployed Hyperion Planning cube for forecasting and budgeting for finance users. Intensive troubleshooting was one of the requirements since the data load was dependent on various processes and the cubes were supposed to be available to the users 24/7.
