Dell Federal Services Washington DC

PMO Director, 2008 – present

• PMO Director for a $400 million dollar contract with the U.S. Department of Education. Responsible for delivering IT solutions, this includes supporting and managing IT Operations Projects, Refresh Projects, Desktop Refresh Projects, Desktop Support Services and IT Infrastructure projects such as OS Server Upgrades, PC and Printer Refreshes, Helpdesk Support, e-mail Services, Enterprise Content Management Upgrade, Implementation of Web monitoring tools, Communication and Multimedia services.

• Responsible for managing enterprise level programs and projects. This includes working with the Key Stakeholders, Program Managers, IT and Sponsors to prioritize projects, developed project schedules, identify tasks/milestones, managing the budgets and define resources based on availability and skills. Also responsible for ensuring and maintaining production support operations governed by Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

• Responsible for recruiting and growth of the consulting organization.

• Work with staff and senior management on prioritization and forecasting of account.

• Work with Program Managers to identify and manage dependencies, identify and mitigate risks and issues across all programs.

• Support of the ERP Program Management Office's initial setup & configuration of CA Clarity PPM and Financial Organization Structure.

• Meet with Dell Leadership for a Monthly Account Review. The review captures revenue projections, business development plan, customer satisfaction, key metrics, financial performance measurement, program staffing and project account review.

• Worked with leadership in the selection of sub-contractors, this includes writing the statement of work (SOW), reviewing the bids and provide input into the selection of the vendor.

• Direct a staff of 14 FTE’s and 3 contractors. This includes setting yearly goals, establishing training goals, monitoring performance and completing the mid year and yearly reviews.

GEICO Washington DC

Program Manager, 2003 – 2008

• Program Manager for a large scale vendor COTS software project for a new line of business called Commercial Auto Sales. Researched the technology and vendors. Using the scrum methodology managed the business associates, vendor and IT personnel; ensured milestones were met, maintained project plans, and rolled out $10 M pilot in 3 states. Awarded the GEICO e-business Solution award.

• Responsible for leading large scale, multi-year. high-impact, cross-functional, customer-facing projects such as GEICO.com, Sales and Claims online systems and infrastructure projects.

• Responsible for establishing the Project Management Office within GEICO’s IT organization.

• Managed and implemented the PMO development of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standard project methodology based on PMBOK. This includes the development of configuration management, release management, development of artifact templates and application development methodology.

• Developed and implemented a Enterprise Portfolio Management system which was used to for managing projects, resource planning, metrics, dashboard reporting, and executive governance. Provide updates to executive management on weekly bases.

• Facilitated annual budget meetings with IT Managers to develop annual budgets and capital projects plans. Developed monthly metrics to IT executives.

• Developed approach to tailor PMBOK methodology to CMMI level 3.

• Assembled and trained a team to execute Project Portfolio Management. This included development of course work, and training analysts, developers and project managers on collecting and reporting project status.

AMTRAK Washington DC

PMO Manager, 1999 – 2003

• Established 8 person PMO Office supporting two hundred IT staff. This included development and implementation of the Amtrak Project Management Methodology.

• Managed $8M annual budget for all IT projects.

• Designed IT training material to implement the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) through out the IT organization. Conducted classes using SDLC training material for analysts, developers and project managers.

• Managed a project to implement a Point of Sale (POS) system within all the café cars.

PEROT SYSTEMS Washington DC

• Led and organized large billing inter-departmental projects for MCI. Responsible for all aspects of project development throughout the project lifecycle including facilitating meetings and communication among project team members.
