AutoReq is an up gradation project from GEGDC. That is to migrate from an older

version, webMethods 4.x to a newer version, webMethods 6.x. The Task was to analyze

the 4.x code and prepare design documents, test plan, migration sheets and develop the

integrations in webMethods 6.1 and then testing them in three different stages Dev, Test

and Stage. Finally, moving the code into production environment. Also supporting the

integrations for more than 20 days once they are moved to Production and lastly giving

the KT (Knowledge Transfer) to the support team in GEGDC i.e. RTS team for further

support of these integrations.

The project deals with migration of existing webMethods 4.x integrations among

AutoReq to webMethods 6.x environment. This is a publish-subscribe integration.

In publish-subscribe integrations, the source system updates some information in their

application, the changes have to be replicated in target applications.

Project 1: WINDERP-ESERVICES

Client : GE Energy Services

Project Duration : August 2007 to June 2008

Role : Team member

Team size : 3

Integrations Handled : 18

Database : Oracle 9i

Middleware : WebMethods 6.1 Integration Platforms

Operating Systems : Windows XP

Tools : Document Tracker, Tortoise CVS version1.4.5, WebMethods Monitor 6.1.5

Project Details

WINDERP-ESERVICES:

GE Wind Energy provide customer support service directly from own service centre or through third party servicing agent. Each and every activity performed in this respect is tracked as task in a newly created services request on behalf of customer. These Service requests are currently being maintained in oracle applications CRM & Installed base module known as eServices (eService ERP). As GE Wind Energy has planned to implement oracle applications (Wind ERP) for their core business and where all the invoicing will be done, receivable Invoices created in eServices instance need to be transferred to Wind ERP Receivables. The benefit after this integration would be, that time lag between a servicing activity and raising invoice to the customer will be less, with all the invoices being maintained in one single system, no manual intervention hence accurate invoice information.

The above-mentioned integration will be done through an interface program. One outbound interface will be created in eServices ERP to transfer data from eServices ERP receivables invoice interface to a custom table (This change is out of scope for this document and eServices team will own this change). Web Methods will then transfer the data from eServices ERP custom table to Wind ERP similar custom table.

The inbound interface will be created to validate the data from Wind ERP custom table and move it to receivables invoice base tables using standard oracle APIs.

WebMethods will transfer the billing Information from eServices ERP custom table to Wind ERP custom table. The structure of these two custom tables will be exactly same. Once the data is successfully inserted in to the WindERP table the acknowledgment needs to be sent back to eService. (Note: The log table is used to maintain the status of Oracle ERP insert, Webmethods publish and WindERP successful subscribe) and we are doing enhancement for the existing 13 interfaces and developing 3 new modules (GE_Juliet_PO_Source, Wind AR publish, Wind GECARS publish integration).
