EXPERIENCE
T. & B. Management Consultants, San Diego, CA, 1997 – present.
Club Consultant. I utilized my knowledge of Retail Management and applied it to the Night Club Business, It's still Retail just a different product. I would analyze the club Customer base, then develop a business plan based on those demographics in order maximize revenue opportunity. Aid in interviewing and hiring of new employees. determine most appropriate entertainment, develop new security procedures because of increased business, revamp pricing structure, re-do interiors/carpeting/flooring, develop bar theme and lighting, instituted a bartender commission structure, develop marketing, advertising campaigns also designed and installed sound and lighting systems in several clubs.
Increased business for one client from $150 nightly to $7000+ nightly over a four year span.

Heilig-Meyers Furniture, San Diego, CA, 1983 – 1999 (company closed).
District Manager, 1989 – 1999. Managed nine stores in the San Diego area. Visited troubled stores and in some cases assumed position as Store Manager until store problems were resolved and reassigned the Store Manager to a position he or she could be successful with. Improved product mix based on the demographics of the area. Trained employees in all aspects of retail store operations, and developed staffing and scheduling procedures that improved employee morale.
Relocated Escondido store, increasing monthly sales from $67 K to $300 K+.
Reduced credit losses from 6.7% to 0.6% on a fiscal year basis.
Exceeded corporate sales forecast by 1263% in first year 8 months into the fiscal year!
Hired additional employees and purchased additional delivery trucks to manage increased business.
Increased National City store profits from $90 K annual loss to $180 K profit by reducing credit losses.
Reduced both costs and shrinkage by combining National City and Chula Vista delivery operations into one unit and developed the program to control inventoy in both stores, which was used company wide where it made sense.
Instrumental in combining three districts into one, reducing overhead and unifying individual store operations in overlapping regions.
Assistant Store Manager, 1983 – 1985. Managed two company stores in the Phoenix/Glendale area. Opened Our Largest Location with 32,000 sq. ft. of display area , developed and implemented merchandising plan and delivery schedule including Saturday Deliveries for the first time in the companies history, hired and trained employees and key personnel. Analyzed local clientele and localized product mix based on demographics while still retaining the core merchandising plan.
Developed store concept of three room groupings for optimal furniture display, and for the first time included a “Home Entertainment Center”, as a fourth room, complete with a Wide screen T.V., Surround Sound System, Computer Station and Video games leading to increased Wide screen TV, Stereo, Computer and Video Game sales and this concept was rolled out companywide.
Began at Heilig-Meyers as delivery driver, promoted to warehouse manager, salesman, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager, and District Manager.
