Recent Achievements
Participated on the Advanced Ed (SACS) and GAAPS review teams. Result: Observed and contributed positive feedback and constructive criticism to schools in metro Atlanta. This allowed schools to attain accreditation and meet all mandates according to SACS.
Provided instructional support through professional development, human resources, curriculum resources, observations, and meetings. Result: Babb Middle became a Title One Georgia School of Distinction. The first middle school in Clayton County Schools to make AYP 3 consecutive years.
Conducted curriculum workshops for teachers during staff development and training. Result: Teachers were better prepared to implement academic changes and successful research based strategies during the school year.
Facilitated faculty meetings that discussed and carried out school and district policies and procedures. Result: Faculty and staff were informed of school and district expectations.
Responsible for fundraising events and business partnerships. Result: Added numerous business partners and fund raising events that contributed monetary resources, school supplies and raised over $5,000 toward charities that included victims of Japans Earth Quake, Holiday Giving, Hosea Feed the Hungry, and the American Cancer Society.
Monitored academic/ instructional benchmark tests, common assessment, ITBS and CRCT data for teachers and staff. Result: School was able to determine areas of strengths and weaknesses in order to meet the needs of students and teachers. In addition schools were able to show academic progress and consistently make Adequate Yearly Progress.
Developed and revised student and faculty handbook. Result: Parents, students, and teachers were aware of expectations, policies, and procedures of both school and district.
Implemented school-wide discipline and safety plan. Result: Student referrals were decreased by more than 50% compared to the previous year. (from Over 1200 referrals in 2007-2008 to less than 600 in 2010-2011) Show significant decreases each year.
Monitored attendance data of students daily. Parents and teachers were notified by email, phone, home visits, school letter and conference of attendance issues. Result: School met AYP standards for student attendance at 97% rate for the year, which meant students spent much needed time in classrooms for instruction.
Analyzed school-wide test data to track areas that needed improvement. Result: Administration and teachers were prepared to implement the necessary programs and resources in low performance areas and continue to implement all effective methods.
Supervised custodial staff in an effort to maintain a clean and safe school environment. Developed mandatory cleaning plan and procedures. Result: School is noted by county officials as one of the cleanest buildings in the county. Received excellent ratings.
Founded Men of Drew and Babb’s Men In Action. Result: Parent involvement and volunteer hours increase by more than 1000 hours.
Supervised Babb Middle School’s athletic program. Result: School won county champions in football, (girls, boys) basketball, volleyball, track, girls swimming from 2009-2011.
Recruited Highly Qualified teachers for Clayton County Public Schools. Participated for all schools in Clayton County Public Schools. Result: Principals were able to make recommendations for hire through the highly qualified candidate pool.
