EXPERIENCE

June 1997 – Dec 2009 Solution Developer L-3 Communications / Titan Inc. / BTG Inc.

L-3 Communications provides IT services and consulting support to federal customers.

Senior systems infrastructure developer responsible for designing, deploying, test and integration of the environment critical to production systems. Implemented VmWare ESX Server and several other components to provide scalability and efficient resource allocation.

Configured NetApp in both SAN and NAS configurations to support CIFS and NFS. Used Flexvol to create LUNS and volumes across large pool of disks and one or more RAID groups. Tested upgrades and patches on

OnTap 7.2. Tested and implemented SnapShot/SnapRestore features for use in production network.

Developed rule sets for SnapMirror to provide incremental data replication in either synchronous or asynchronous modes depending on system requirements.

Built Terminal Server baselines for the development staff to consolidate source code control and toolsets.

Citrix 4.5 server farm solution on both virtual and physical platforms to provide a test environment of DTW, (Defense Terminal Wkstn), for production.

Primary architect for data organization project utilizing SharePoint/MOSS 2007.

This included identifying unique products; Echo, Syntergy for regular expression and replication purposes respectively. Also defined organization’s folder hierarchy as a framework for compartmented and private data stores and to determine the most effective index propagation and proper access methods.

Prototyped an OCS 2007 suite, (Office Communications Server), to supplant the IWS, (Information WorkSpace), platform currently in production that has application sharing and performance issues.

Constructed and implemented a SharePoint 2003 Server farm consisting of two Web Front-ends, a SQL Active/Passive cluster, Index server and F5 load balancing to host the J2 portal.

Designed Win2000 Active Directory implementation for CENTCOM J2, components and Joint Task Force units. Defined and deployed a dedicated forest root implementation to protect the AD schema and provide a proper security perimeter. This included defining DNS zones & transfers, Directory replication, OU Hierarchy, Delegation model & Group Policy Object defaults. Established templates & creation criteria for object management.

Emphasized best practices, disciplines and methodologies to create a stable and consistent server baseline. Implemented “Lights-Out” build techniques that automated server builds and configuration via scripting. Refined process to include critical toolsets, resource kits, deployment tools, third-party software & SNMP based applications. This process led to the ability to enable server imaging which provided the production network a rapid recovery capability.

Integrated, tested & deployed CCS 5.0, (Symantec Command Central Storage), on a multitude of platforms; Solaris8, Win32, Brocade Fibre channels & Cisco switches. The deployed agents would report file use, activity, duplication, file age & other properties into a central database and determine current storage capacity and file utilization. It also provided an advanced, customizable filtering capability and could prevent unnecessary purchase of additional storage.

Prior to the Win2000 effort, automated the NT4 Client build process w/answer files and SMS packaging to create a high-quality thick-client that could be deployed into production and quickly reproduced in the lab for troubleshooting purposes.

June 1993-1997 JDISS Site Representative BTG, Inc.

Served as the JDISS, (Joint Deployable Intelligence Support System), Site Representative.

Responsible for deploying and maintaining over 70 wkstns in CONUS and the CENTCOM AOR.

JDISS is based on the UNIX OS & provides common intelligence application interoperability to move critical war fighting data from the national to the force level.

Tasks included; - Building multiple baseline systems for deployment

- Integrating COTS/GOTS

- 24 hr System troubleshooting & problem resolution

- Configuration of equipment such as scanners, digital image printers, cameras, etc.

- Upgrading system software and conducting training

Nov 1992- May 1993 IR&D Engineer TRW, Inc.

As an Independent Research and Development, (IRAD), effort developed the Secure Processing Environment, (SCOPE), prototype. SCOPE provided secure connections between physically separate TCP/IP networks. This included writing secure processing interfaces, defining bit-encoded logic to enforce information labels and control privileges and file access. Integrated a set of pseudo-device drivers, system level libraries and utilities to provide a message queuing inter-process communication parcel service. Took system through accreditation including documentation for A1 systems certification.

May 1988- Nov 1992 OBU Site Representative TRW, Inc.

The OSIS, (Ocean Surveillance and Intelligence System), is an automated near-real time, networked system, built to provide support to the US NAvy. OBU, (OSIS Baseline Upgrade), provided a multi-level secure OPINTEL capability that is based on a VAX cluster w/associated peripherals. As a site representative at JICPAC, Hawaii, responsibilities included communications interfaces, system troubleshooting, VAX cluster management, directing hardware/software engineers and Navy personnel in the operations and maintenance of the system. This also involved system installation, upgrades, test, debugging of software releases, devising workarounds and instructing users. Worked operational watch floor including direct contact w/Fleet units to direct US Navy response to developing situations. In addition:

- Designed Automatic Correlator/Tracker, (ACT), channelization scheme

- Devised tuning methodology to optimize ELINT and spatial algorithms and analyze emitter operating characteristics.

- Conducted daily analysis of ELINT, ACINT, IMINT, HFDF, and organic sensor data to refine

all-source data fusion strategy and maintain aggressive decision thresholds.

- Developed on-line tools to analyze data timeliness and quality.

- Integrated an Allied reporting module to provide automatic downgrade, sanitization, and dissemination capability.
