ACCOMPLISHMENTS

- For Mitsubishi Power Systems I was the only member on the team to do new installations of equipment at the remote sites. I am the one who initiated a contact with the customer to deal with the logistic and arrangement of the equipment installation, I schedule a visit to the site to verify everything was in place before sending the equipment. Once equipment was on site I travel back to the plant and install the OSM equipment (Onsite Monitoring Computer), then instruct the customer regarding the handling and caring of the equipment. I do this for national and international customers and travel to Mexico, theUK and various sites in the US.

- For General Electric Power Systems I was part of the team to do new installations and troubleshooting of existing equipment at the remote sites. We also developed a way to track twelve hundred units around the world on a webpage. I helped troubleshoot problems worldwide on OSM issues and other technical issues different than the OSM equipment.

- As part of the COE (Consistence Office Environment) Group in General Motors of Mexico I created a standard system for acquiring computer equipment and software that was used throughout the GM Assembly Plant. This saved money and time by focusing only on one computer brand and a few software providers.

- For Linamar de Mexico I implemented the Human Resources Personnel Administration System.

This Project was made for an Automotive Car Transmissions Assembly Plant.

The project consisted of the integration in a system where we can control the personnel timesheet registering through an ID batch their entering and exiting times, automatic charge of meals in the dining room, ID profile, access to the buildings etc. This helped generate savings for the company by maintaining control of all the activities inside the premises like knowing who checked in for work and how many hours they worked. Based on this the system passed all information into the SOLOMON Accounting System so it can calculate everyone’s salary and to have a paycheck imprinted automatically by the end of the week.

Also I was part of the Quality assurance Dept. where I implemented QS9000 as required by GM of Mexico as our principal customer.

WORK EXPERIENCE

March 2008 to Dec 2009

Position: IT Engineer, Tech Support (English / Spanish)

Company: Mitsubishi Power Systems, Orlando FL

Responsibilities: Assuring that Remote Monitoring Center receives current and reliable data from Electricity Generating turbines around the world; also supporting other tools like PI Processbook, and Most of PI applications. I give technical support to OSM user –on a 24x7 basis, I support in English and Spanish for our customers in Latin America and Europe. We interact with Control Room onsite operator to get things resolved when a remote communication with the OSM cannot be accessed. Also I help the RMC operators to translate emails, calling Spanish speaking countries when there is an issue with the turbine we were monitoring and to follow up on logistics when we shipped monitoring equipment parts to another country.

I’m also responsible of developing and installing OSMs at the power plants. My role is to configure/support all OSMs (On Site Monitoring computer) that are connected to the turbines, this equipment is Dell and HP servers, OSM are composed basically of three servers, one data server, one data storage server and a management server where we could see the logic maps of the turbine. I have to travel to the power plants to install the monitoring equipment. The sites I visited to do this include Tuxpan, Campeche and Chihuahua Mexico, Wolf Hollow, TX, Hobbs, NM, PREPA Puerto Rico and Teesside in the UK. To troubleshoot an issue I have to do this from my computer accessing remotely to any OSM. Some occasions we have to travel to the site plant to resolve a physical issue. To remote monitor an OSM server we use many tools like Desktop on Call, Remote Desktop and VNC for a primary remote support.

Other activities I am responsible for is to research for information pertaining the Remote Monitoring Center and how to make it better, bring new technology, better software to remote diagnose turbines, finding out news on Mexico and foresee any issues that may affect the performance and/or safety of the Plant or the grid (i.e. Weather, politics, security, and other issues related to travel safety, etc). I am involved on the research for the NERC compliance for the RMC on how to comply with the security from the OSM on site to the RMC and its surroundings. I have to do this for our customer, once the customer is ready to follow NERC regulations we have to comply with the site as their own regulations to protect the integrity of the grid.
