City of Seattle Parks & Recreation Department, 1995 – Present

(Promoted from Seasonal, General, Utility, currently Maintenance Laborer)

Maintenance Laborer

•Responsible for maintenance, and cleaning duties of Recreation facility. Develop inventory system to keep accurate records of chemical and equipment, and supply expenditures which led to saving of funds and creating surplus for end of year budget. Communicate with outside vendors in regards to equipment, and supply orders. Ensure facility is safe for participants, patrons, and guests.

•Administered equipment training sessions to effectively train employees how to safely operate maintenance equipment which led to professional looking facility for the community.

• Investigated complaints generated by park user groups, and identified, communicated with proper personnel within the department to successfully address the complaints.

•Coordinated facility maintenance crew to provide special deep cleaning to 26 recreation community centers. Scheduled meetings to discuss and identify with recreation coordinator, work to be completed and prioritized work projects to complete the special deep cleaning projects within the recreation community centers. This saved time and money not having to contract the work out with outside contractors.

•Serve on interview panels to identify potential candidates for future employment.
