Data Center Operations Architect(Consultanting Analyst)

• Developed Accenture Point of View on the ITIL CMDB @ Accenture – Researched and created presentation on CMDB of all vendors and applications’ current and future vision and strategies using analysts, vendors, and Accenture sources. Created ITIL CMDB definition for Accenture combining all current definitions available into one using experience. Created new vendor templates needed to give the Accenture CMDB PoV presentation a fresh look. Made source documents available to reviewers by creating SharePoint. Was easily accessed. Dedicatidly worked unprhomted, on own time, to make contribution..

• Application Mapping @ HSBC (Using what is Now HP CMDB or HP DDM - Discovery and Dependency Mapping), a Configuration Management system – Was able to perform discovery of CI’s and their relationships and dependencies with NT & UNIX with extremely complex tool never used before due to self-starter attitude. Learned MAM - Mercury Application Mapping (Now HP Discovery and Dependency Mapping) in a two-week class (at Mercury Headquarters in Sunnyvale CA) and on own time, weekends/evenings. Drove asset inventory discovery of NT, UNIX, and resources. This provided CI dependency views (topology maps) to be used in Business Service Management. This provided information needed to find cause and impact in service/system. This provided the foundation to build business service views. Customer chose to disable ongoing auto-discovery for time being. Also, federation was not opted at the time. Worked around policy (no VPN) and scheduled on weekend. Strategically staggered discovery scripts based on experience, overcoming gap in instructions from vendor support, to meet tight schedule and discover more resources, as evidenced in logs, preventing failure. Worked weekend & 33hrs straight to ensure project success. Data was successfully used for views created the next week..

• Desktop migrations @ SubSea7 (Halliburton) – Organized Active Directory for users, migrated desktops, troubleshoot Win2003 Server issues, Transitioned printers & queue’s produced documentation and labels. Greatly improved efficiency of team logistically during desktop deployment

• Network asset data process improvement @ Microsoft MSN in Redmond, WA – Improved Networking Configuration Management process by creating Visio diagrams of As-Is and To-Be processes of physical network devices & CI’s – Configuration Items, and proposing solutions for gaps, obtaining agreement on changes dealing with all network assets. This resulted in agreement on a better way of doing configuration changes as acknowledge by the groups involved and managers and Accenture and Microsoft.

• ITIL Design & Alignment @ Becton Dickenson in New Jersey – Was able to give BD deliverable that mapped clients objectives to ITIL metrics necessary to identify successful ITIL compliance by searching multiple sources, using experience and training. Deliverable was used in NA Infrastructure Conference presentation generating most interest of any item among Data Center Operations.

• Operations Design @ BellSouth in Atlanta – Led team of two in creation of Roadmap and Detailed Design Deliverables for new ESB (Enterprise Service Bus – SOA -Service Oriented Architecture Integrated Messaging Backbone). Created three designs for WebSphere MQ, MQ Broker, and DataPower with focus on Configuration and Change management. Created configuration management process for DataPower – Articulated and drew the middle ground between developers needs and CM teams’ needs for DataPower. Proposed the solution of dividing out the environment specific (DataPower) parts into separate files so the bulk of the configuration could be versioned and promoted throughout SDLC while the environment specific parts (system and application) remained. Helped to establish this among the teams (Developers, CM, Support, Operations) Communicated the SDLC process with our team and others which improved understanding and put us on the same page. Project Management - conducted meetings. Informed teammates of ITIL concepts and terminology. Tested the configuration management process steps for DataPower and executed deployment scripts. Provided direction and scope like making decision to include only select parts of CM process and reference from all three docs. Encouraged team to involve other teams. Created new process diagrams in Visio. Provided formatting help for our team for all of the design docs. Client was pleased with deliverables. Helped different groups come to the same understanding of operations by conducting meetings with them and consolidating and emailing docs of big picture.

• Application Load Testing @ Charter Communications in Louisville – Created load test plan deliverable. Evaluated various load testing software. Created and Executed load test using Mercury LoadRunner. Tested Microsoft CCF (Contact Center Framework) using XML SOAP WSDL calls to the CCF web services servers.

• Deliverable Creation @ NHS (Nation Healthcare System) in Leeds England – Created test cases and scenarios for legacy FTP solution so solution could be tested. Researched FTP client alternatives. Built windows FTP servers. Created operations Manual by finding similar items in knowledge base and adapting. Evaluated strengths and weaknesses of HP OpenView vs. BMC Patrol. Client was pleased with deliverables.
