About Project : The project involved creation of tax parcel database for Cook County. The work process requires construction of Lot, Parcels, ROW (Right of Way), Landhook, Sub Division, Tax Block from Ortho-Photos and Taxmap using BEST-FIT methodology.

Responsibilities :

Worked first six months in production section, captured Lot, Parcel, ROW, Landhook, Sub Division, Tax Block from Ortho-Photos and Taxmap using BEST-FIT methodology. Generated Topology for each Lot & parcel having centroid and attached a parcel pin number with external Database.

Next six months involved in QC Bench for quality check. In this process the quality of Orthophoto tiffs are checked for correct projection system, geometric accuracy and radiometric accuracy to ensure correctness of Orthophotos for production or data capture. Captured data is checked in respect of geometric accuracy, positional accuracy, edge matching, and topology accuracy as per specification. QC Bench also needs to send the QC reports or feed back to the production section for incorporation and improve the quantity & quality.

Last one year I worked as a permanent QA member for all ongoing projects during that time. The Quality Department, which is an independent department, has the same role to play for each project.

QA department selects a suitable sample varying from 10 to 30% of the total volume and checks it as per customer requirements. If the errors found are within the acceptance criteria then the lot is passed else sent back for rectification. QA thoroughly checks the file for missing components, graphic symbology and some general checks according to graphical connectivity of each feature as per customer’s specifications. Graphic connectivity checks would check converted linear and point features up to accuracy of zero tolerance.

About Project : Land Base Map Creation and IKONOS Image Interpretation for Reliance Infocom.

Reliance Industries Limited was building up an Information System for various Major Cities. Cities are considered in 1st Phase of Implementation in India using IKONOS images. These images were provided intelligence with an appropriate interpretation and converting the data into digital format with all the necessary database attributes attached to it. Major cities covered in this project included Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Kanpur, Mathura, Behrampur, Erode, Anand and Valsad.

Major feature Includes :

Footprint of the building: Residential buildings and Complex buildings, Railway Station, Port buildings, Airport, Stadium, golf course, Playground, Industries, Sports complex, Slums.

Road Edge: All types of Roads, Railway lines, Flyovers, Bridges, Footpath, Island, Airport & Air Strips.

About Project : The main focus of the project is to effectively manage the land records, minimize the land and property disputes and enhance transparency in the land records maintenance system. Data created on spatial features will help KLR in proper developmental planning and utilization of resources in a sustainable manner.

The following comparison shows the project in a nutshell:

Ladder data entry and digital drafting of individual RSFs.

Block boundary creation using FMBs (Field Measurement Book values)

Parcel and lot lines are drafted according to the ladder in the FMBs

Khandam boundary creation and fitting in to block using FMB values..

About Project : To build an Electrical Network Information System (NIS) of all existing Bewag electricity.

Principles of capturing entity is to be captured through two independent matching referenced points, a reference point in front of the utility, a reference point behind the utility.

The topological reference points are House & Building corner, Land & Plot/Parcel boundaries, Kerb lines & Traffic Island, other elements like Walls, Steps, Fence and Street Lamp Post etc.

The project is to develop a GIS system for Electrical Network Mapping & Consumer Indexing for planning and management of Electrical network and consumer database of Electric Supply Company. To analyze the developed Electrical Network Map and Consumer database, an interface was developed using VB++ on top of COTS product.

Responsibilities :

Accept and commit to the Team role to dispatch the deliverables to the client after the formal

clearance of the FQA (Final Quality Assurance).

Ensure the effective Quality Assurance activities, establish and maintain documented Quality

Assurance (QA) Plan.

About Project : Survey of ONGC mining lease areas and their 56 Installations sites using DGPS & Total Station and followed by field survey of Flow lines of GAS, OIL, WATER and TRUNK Lines which are all scattered over Rudra Sagar, Lakwa, Geleki, Amguri, Chariali, Changmai Gaon , Demolgaon and Moran areas under Sibsagar District of ASSAM.

Comparison of well locations with the available data and plotting the corrected Wells & GGS data on the map, providingInstallation wise and placement of flow-lines, gas injection lines, water and Trunk Lines.

Responsibilities :

Responsible for overall coordination of the onsite GIS project at ONGC, Nazira, ASSAM. Involved in planning, conducting, supervision and execution of all for this project. Organized DGPS & Total station survey for 1100 number of Wells and 56 nos INSTALLATION of Rudra Sagar, Lakwa, Geleki, Amguri, Chariali, Changmai Gaon , Demolgaon and Moran areas. Flow Line survey completed for OIL Lines, Water Lines, Gas Lines & Trunk Lines.

SOI toposheet of 1:50,000 scales were used as the base map. In addition to these base maps, IKONOS satellite images were used to create updated map on 1:20,000 scale followed by the field survey and ground truthing for final map creation.

Incorporated also all above survey data in to GIS software Geomedia Professional and prepared Based map, Well Location maps, Flow Line maps, and Key Plan maps of mine lease area for the Oil fields areas.

Assignment –VII

Project : “Mapping of Surveyed Seismic Lines of Assam Basin, GIS Based Seismic Database

Management System development, Seismic Survey Planning and Geo-Scientific

About Project : From the SOI TopoSheets, IKONOS imagery, surveyed information of Geophysics

Department, digitaldatabase of seismic lines and survey points of OIL Operational areas are being created in to GIS form using s/w GM Pro, GM Grid

and ENVI. This will help to bring all the related information in fingertip. The salient feature in the use of GIS technology is to create base map and overlay of various components relevant to the buildup of OIL operational area. It’s a GIS based application for query, analysis, preparation of plan map, meeting prerequisite of 2D & 3D Oil field survey, report generation and Asset Management System.

Responsibilities :

I have worked in this project since December, 2006 to 2007 as an onsite technical man power support, project execution as well as fulfillment of daily requirement of the department from Geophysics, NEF project, Geology, Land and Production department. GIS creation done for ML & PEL areas, Plan & Acquired 3D Blocks, Drilled & identified Structures of Oil Operational areas.

About Project : The project is a continuous process of GIS based application developed for

militaryrequirements on Hardware and Software for the comprehensive operations. The project is to set world standard GIS software for image processing, GIS creations & development, Photogrammetry for 3D analysis to develop 2D and 3D GIS System etc.

The project involves the enhancement existing functionalities and to develop the specific requirements to fulfill the operational needs of Defence Officers to make rapid and effective command decisions by use of GIS software.

About Project : The project is to automate the flow of information in the field formations and present Decision support options to field commanders. The system will assist to Defence Staff in assessing offensive and defensive situations for timely planning and effective decision-making. Processed and developed various raster and vector data as per the format of customized software for tactical analysis for internal defense operation. Planning movement of men and materials during operational mobilization is quick and efficient using Road Network Analysis tools. Generation of a 3D Terrain Model of the displayed map based on varying lighting conditions for launching missions. Users can exploit the Inbuilt Library of Symbols for quick creation of tactical overlays thus enabling accurate and quick dissemination of operational information. War fighters can plan offensive / defensive operations quickly. Creation of an electronic Mapboard of the theatre of Operation.

About Project : Ground Survey using DGPS & Total Station and Digital Photogrammetry. Preparation of 0.25m contour using survey data. Generation of DEM from the contours & Generation of Ortho-Photo. Extraction of major topographic features from ortho-photo. Collection, scanning, registration, digitization, mosaicing and digital Mouza maps preparation for the study area. Importing and merged the contour data, with updated graphic data and adding mosaic Mouza sheet as backdrop of the above layer in to GIS. Plotting and ground (field) verification after GIS creation & Model (DEM) generation. Incorporation of spatial and non- spatial data available within Irrigation and Waterways department. Finally Web GIS based Decision Support System by integrating the various data available within Irrigation & Waterways Department, West Bengal.

Responsibilities :

Involved as project coordinator and GIS expert in all activities of project support in defining process flow, software requirement projections, survey plan program and execution, field verification, production, QC and QA. Examine process and its work flow at every stage of production and takes suitable action against error propagation up-front. Attended survey program at Raiganj, West Bengal for DGPS & TS survey, field verification and ground truthing. The contours generated 0.5m interval from RL value (TS data) further interpolated in digital environment using standard mathematical algorithms available for deriving contours in to 0.25m interval.

Procured latest available cloud free Cartosat stereo satellite image from NRSC for the entire AOI of 580 sq. km and created ortho-photo for feature collection. Mosaicing and geo referencing carried out for Mouza sheets for whole area and incorporation of project features including digitization of Mouza boundary, extraction of major topographic features from ortho-photo (Cartosat Image), like roads, railway lines, water bodies, forest areas etc. Merged all topographic features, contour data, Mouza sheet as backdrop of the above layer and plotting in 1:3960 scale. Generated 3D model (DEM) from contour data, incorporated spatial and non-spatial data available within Irrigation and Waterways department, West Bengal.
