Construction Management Professional with 30 years’ experience in the commercial construction industry, including specific International markets. Versed in multiple project types including large-scale, mixed-use complexes; high-rise commercial and residential towers; sports arenas, health care facilities, education K-12, retail and interior fit-outs, and some with LEED certification.

Core Responsibilities

Developed and implemented site planning, logistics and procedures for the execution of the work; quality assurance and control protocol. Ensure work performed in compliance with all requirements of the contract documents and specifications. Develop, implement, monitor and update work schedules identifying the critical path, including the expediting of scheduled materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site. Coordinate, direct and monitor the construction work activities of prime contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, direct labor. Coordinate the activities of authorized inspection agencies. Direct, train and evaluate project staff. Establish and enforce a comprehensive safety and security program as defined in the company safety program and in accordance with all applicable safety codes, regulations and authorities. Review and approve all subcontractor and vendor payment applications and participate in the timely preparation of monthly payment requisitions. Develop and maintain project recording documents including DCR’s, monthly reports; progress and productivity reports, through the use of Prolog, MS Word, Excel and Project. Assist Project Manager with development and monitoring of project budget and cost control. Participated in constructability review and value engineering sessions with responsible stakeholders. Work with Procurement Manager and Project Engineer in the development of scopes of work and awarding of contracts for all prime and sub-contractors; vendors.

Consultant-Project Manager. Planning and program management of all construction activities; coordinating subcontractors and vendors on various types of environmental remediation projects in the NY/NJ area.

Contract Consultant, Trinidad and Tobago April 2007- May 2010

Construction Manager. Planned, developed, initiated and monitored project start-up, logistical and procedural requirements; trained, mentored and evaluated project staff.

Projects included:

• Acuitas Caribbean Ltd. eTecK Flagship Building, Wallerfield.

The first LEED certified project in Trinidad. Trained on ISO 9000 compliance.

• Bovis Lend Lease/Acuitas Caribbean Ltd. (JV) Renaissance at Shorelands, Glencoe.

CM contract on US$120M, luxury high-rise residential, mixed-use complex, including a marina.

• HCL Corp. One Woodbrook Place Residential Community, Woodbrook.

Sr. Construction Manager-Phase I portion of this US$200M+ luxury, hi-rise residential/commercial, retail and entertainment complex.

Project Superintendent. Brian Lara Cricket Academy Stadium- Trinidad and Tobago. Scheduled and managed all construction activities of the General Contractor on Trinidad’s premier cricket venue, valued at US$80M.

Zachry Construction Corp., San Antonio, Texas May 2005-Dec. 2005

Civil/General Superintendent. U.S. Embassy Compound- Managua, Nicaragua. US$59M Project consisted of new Chancery Building and (8) auxiliary buildings on a 60 acre site. Managed an International staff of 11 Superintendents and Engineers. Granted Security Clearance by the US Gov’t. Trained on the use of Doka forming systems.

Turner Construction Corp. (Hochtief Group), Dallas, Texas April 1993-April 2005

• Project Superintendent. Neptune Community School- Neptune, New Jersey. (Dec. ’03-Apr. ’05)

Managed construction of this US$41M, 150,000 sq. ft., LEED compliant, K-5 school, which included attached natatorium.

• Construction Manager. Conference Palace Hotel- Abu Dhabi, UAE. (Sept. ’02- Nov. ’03)

Directed an International staff of 17 Superintendents and Engineers on this US$ 1.6B, 7-STAR, 1.2 million sq. ft. hotel and conference center, including a world-class auditorium and conference center, a 15,000 sq. ft. ballroom, 26 international restaurants and 32 royal suites to accommodate heads-of-state, and a world class marina. Initiated and supervised daily WAR ROOM workshops amongst all responsible stakeholders.

• Project Superintendent. Regeneron Pharmaceuticals- Renssalaer, NY. (Jun. ’01-Sept. ’02)

US$25M Pharmaceutical Processing Laboratory in Upstate New York.

• Project Superintendent. South Glens Falls Central School District- Glens Falls, NY. (Sept. ’98-May ’00)

US$36M project which included multiple sites (High School, Middle School and (4) Elementary Schools); new construction as well as renovations to existing buildings. Received Turners’ ‘Site Safety Award for 2000’ for dedication and diligence in promoting a ‘safety first’ attitude amongst the team members.
