Regional Safety Manager

Direct the implementation of the company’s safety and security programs for 27 branch locations. Supervise staff at the branch level to establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment via audits and training. I insure that incidents and accidents are investigated timely, accurately and completely via written statements, pictures, videotape etc. I implement as needed and monitor written programs regarding security, safety and vendors/visitors that are on the premises for required services. Travel up to 80 percent of the time to branch locations confirming policy, procedures and OSHA regulations are followed consistently.

Oldcastle Glass, Inc. Plano, Texas. July 2005 – Dec. 2007

Regional Safety Manager

Directed the implementation of the company’s safety program. Supervised staff at the plant level to establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment. Monitor facilities and processes for adherence to OSHA guidelines and elimination of industrial accidents. Provided leadership and guidance to 53 plant level safety managers. Formulated policies and procedures relevant to operations to ensure all plants were in compliance with regulations mandated by OSHA, EPA, WSIB and other regulatory agencies. Traveled on a regular basis to plant locations in Canada and U.S for yearly auditing. Developed and implemented our Health and Safety Manual, Crane and Forklift Training Manuals.

Senior Case Manager

Under limited supervision, I lead a claims service team that consist of 4 (four) members in the making of appropriate decisions, providing technical support and direction. I was responsible for team results, quality of work and the level of customer service provided by my team. I handled a caseload of high exposure ($200,000 up) and more complex cases that required a solid and in-depth investigation and understanding of claims handling. I managed claims in Texas, Colorado and Oklahoma Jurisdictions. My duties also included travel to attend in person claim reviews with the customers and brokers.

SBC---Dedicated Account Dec.1999 – July 2002

I managed SBC, Inc. as a Third Party Administrator of Helmsman Management Services (HMSI) from Dec. 1999 to July 2003. Requirements included, but were not limited to, direct deal with their Short Term and Long Term Disability, Payroll Departments for timely reporting of Workers Compensation payments and return to work status. I was responsible for implementing the Return to Work Program by aggressively managing the file with Nurse Case Managers (assigned to each file) and ongoing contact with physicians for treatment plans and return to work dates. Claims were also settled per Special Service Instructions (SSI) after discussions with the customer contact and obtaining authority.
