Maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of domestic refrigeration and freezer equipment.

Knowledge of refrigerant-flow diagrams, symbol diagrams, electrical schematics, hermetic and semi hermetic systems, and commercial system applications.

Hands on experience with commercial freezers and walk-in boxes, commercial refrigeration equipment, water coolers, and ice makers.

Heating and Cooling

Practical experience in the use of heating-cooling systems, test equipment, pressure-temperature relationships, and troubleshooting techniques.

Hands on service experience with residential and commercial gas furnaces, oil furnaces, electrical heating, and steam hydronics.

Humidifying, Air Cleaning, and Heat Pumps

Detailed knowledge of heating/cooling, humidifying/dehumidifying, filtering, and cleaning air.

Introduction to basic residential and commercial heat pumps.

Load Calculation, Duct and Pipe Sizing

Study and practice of ASHRAE recommendations for load calculations of refrigeration, heating and cooling, and air distribution.
