• Nontraditional role encompassing both transcription and various aspects of medical records.

• Manage team of 20. Responsible for hiring, firing, evaluations and counseling. Maintain schedule 7/365 coverage. Incentive, payroll, AR billing for dept, AP authorization. Configure budget for upcoming year. Handle contract negotiations.

• Implemented transcription service for all employed physicians at a below market cost which created convenience for them and added revenue for the facility.

• Project manager for new dictation system throughout hospital, Lanier to Dictaphone 2006. Implementation of speech recognition system, physician training/education (eScription 2011). Collaborate responsibility for all aspects of implementation of platform change to electronic health care system (IConnect/Cerner). Superuser and trainer to staff and clinical personnel.

• Assist with chart deficiency process.

• Work directly with IS/Physician Liaison.

• Actively involved in implementation of Powerscribe for radiology; CPOE and one-on-one training for physicians regarding use of CPOE/Powernotes. Auditing implementation process for Powernotes and meaningful use.

• Facilitate physician query responses for coding questions in a timely manner to avoid DNSF delays.

• Joint Commission compliance requirements/CMS concerning H&P deficiencies, Discharge Summaries and Op notes and key concern elements, as well as orders signed, timed and dated (pre CPOE).

• Physician Practice Manager (2007 to 2009). Directly responsible for chart audits to ensure employed physicians maintain CMS/Medicaid/Medicare standards with documentation match to E&M level charges as well as red flag RAC billings (modifier use, colonoscopies, 72 hour rule; bundling). Oversee record retention/destruction and release of information practice for the offices.

• Sit on Joint Commission Committee. Report findings to corporate compliance with action plan.

• (8 months Interim for Director – 6/2009 to 4/2010) Oversee Joint Commission. Participate in PI, Infomatics Council, Patient Care Council, various other committees as necessary.
