Pharmacology Laboratory, Northeastern University
• Conducting research on HEK alpha6 beta2 beta3 cells trying to find out whether or not alpha6 containing nicotinic receptors signal through JAK2/STAT3 pathway in addition to their ion channel effects
• Also conducting research on SHEP1 cells and GH4C1 cells to study the surface expression of alpha7 receptors and their signaling through JAK2/STAT3 pathway
• Performing site-directed mutagenesis on chimeric nicotinic-serotonergic receptors
• Working with N-27 cells to study JAK2/STAT3 pathway using alpha7,alpha6,alpha4,beta2 and beta3 nicotinic receptor subunits
• Collected rat hippocampus to extract mRNA for nicotinic alpha7 receptors
