Job Of Wellsite Geologist

I am working as a Senior Wellsite Geologist Consultant in Alberta, Canada. I have twenty years of experience in the oil industry.

I have been working in different companies in Pakistan, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Canada.

I did my MS in Petroleum Geology in 1990. I have been working as Mud logger, Wellsite Geologist and Operation Geologist in Services and Exploration companies since 1992.

In Canada;

I have been working as Wellsite Geologist Consultant; since July 2005, worked single handedly on the rigs, also worked on horizontal, directional, vertical and stratigraphic (coring) wells projects.

Regarding WSG, I have Power Log Version 9 with SS, MD and TVD module. And Wellsight system software. Complete wellsite equipment.

I have experience on the wellsite in picking up core point, casing point etc.

Work Activities

Analysing, evaluating and describing formations whilst drilling using cuttings, gas, and wireline data. Picking core point. Training staff as required. Comparing data gathered during drilling with predictions made at exploration stage (Prognosis).

Maintaining up to date knowledge of MWD, as geosteering becomes extremely important. Supervising one or more wells in the same area. Communication with town operation office. Working as Wellsite Geologist with a consultant company since July, 2005.
